Abstract: A flexible fishing lure is provided that includes a outer shape having a transverse opening for receiving a plurality of alternatively formed lure fin members allowing a user to change the action of a lure by fin selection without replacing the lure. Multiple internal channels within the lure are adaptively provided for receiving a variety of scent sticks, sound generators, light generators, flavor generating means. Flow internal channels extend from a front opening to gill openings allowing a water flow along an inserted scent or flavor stick member to pass through the lure body and exit proximate fin, nair, belly, or other locations simulating an injured or wounded fish leaking bodily fluids or blood. Other features to simulate wounded features. Replacement fins and weighting constructions allow a user to tailor a weight and action enabling a circling or injured motion during retrieval.

The first end is slightly spaced away from the second end for attachment to a lure body. The second end has a branched terminus with opposing first and second branches. The holder has an undercut that extends into the wire body without severing it. The second end is adapted to receive an eye of the fish hook by placing the eye over the first and second branches in sequence using the undercut in one position to thread the fish hook onto the wire body. Various designs of holders are possible with the common theme being that the branched terminus of the second end is sized to prevent an eye of a fish hook from passing over both the first and second branch simultaneously. The lure also includes a hook end cap having a cavity for receiving the second end of the frame. The hood end cap includes an aperture. A portion of the second end of the wire frame extends through the aperture.

Abstract: A frame for converting any object into a fishing lure is formed from a length of wire bent at its center into two strands approximating a wishbone symmetrical about a longitudinal axis. The strands extend through a diverging segment, a converging clamping segment and a connecting segment looped for pivotal engagement on the converging segment. The converging segment is resiliently laterally expandable and the clamping segment is resiliently rotatively expandable with the pivotally engaged connecting segment to receive and hold the object to be converted into a fishing lure therebetween. A tension ring girdingly slidable on the converging segment limits resilient lateral expansion of the frame. Preferably, the wishbone has an eye for connection to the fishing line and a shank. A fish hook may be rigged on the tension ring. A bait hook fixed to the wishbone shank can be used to secure the object in place on the frame.

  • Patent number: 6212818
Abstract: A soft bait fish lure having an elongated body composed of two parts of which the head part is composed of a hard material while the rearmost part representing the tail of the lure is composed of a soft and flexible material. The two parts are joined together by an adhesive so as to provide an integral lure. The rearmost tail part includes cutouts on each side to reduce the thickness so that an integral hinge is formed permitting the tail fin to flex and move simulating swimming motion as the lure is drawn through the water. Flexible legs or claws are integrally formed with the hard part. The midsection of the lure includes an attachment for a fishing line and a hook with a weed guard is included. Guide means are included for aligning the head part with the tail part during attachment. Sound attraction is produced by a rattle device installed in the head part complementing the over-all lure ability. A weight is strategically placed in the head part to stabilize the lure.

  • Patent number: 6209254
Abstract: A fishing lure which includes a crankbait body has a cavity in the lower surface of the body. An elongated insert (which may be a chemiluminescent tube or a colored tube) is positioned in the cavity so that the element is exposed below and on both sides of the crankbait body. The chemiluminescent element is releaseably held in place by a bias spring, a loop located near the forward end of the cavity, or by flexing the element so that it is captured by recesses at the front and rear ends of the cavity.
