Plug Or Minnow Type Patents (Class 43/42.21)
  • Patent number: 10881088
Abstract: A spinning fishing lure comprising a winged plug body with a tapered rear portion having an exterior circumferential array of protruding vanes, and a larger substantially cylindrical hollow front portion with an open face and an annular interior volume. The annular interior volume includes a central hollow stem defining a passageway for fishing line and water, and the lower or bottom end of the annular interior volume is partially closed by a tapered interior end wall and vented out the back of the plug body by smaller flow passages.

  • Patent number: 10271528
Abstract: A fishing-lure device. The device having a pair of blades or impellers each of which is configured in parallel arrangement with a bait and act as floating wings positioned in in a symmetrical arrangement above the bait for attracting game fish to the bait as it is moved through the water or for suspending the bait motionless in the water. Each of the blades is configured in an off-set manner to make a gurgling and popping sound as it traverses through the body of water.

Abstract: Fishing lures are disclosed herein. An embodiment includes a fishing lure comprising: a rotatable lure body having an exterior surface, wherein the exterior surface includes one or more spaced helical grooves configured to effect rotation of the rotatable lure body during retrieval through water; and a hook coupled to the rotatable lure body, wherein the rotatable lure is configured to rotate independently of the hook; wherein the fishing lure is a topwater fishing lure.

  • Patent number: 6508029
Abstract: A fishing lure is formed of three principal parts, including a bullet-shaped nose section having a reduced diameter part toward the rear including an axial bore, a rear or plug section having a reduced diameter forward section which is a press fit into the axial bore, and a centrally positioned spinner consisting of an annular member surrounding said reduced diameter part and having highly reflective fins secured to its exterior surface. Grooves formed in the ends of the spinner serve as bearing races and bearings are located in the grooves to aid in causing the spinner to rotate freely when the lure is pulled through the water causing the fins to spin and flash in the light. The plug section has a collar of approximately the same diameter as the exterior surface of the spinner and a slightly reduced diameter toward the rear to accommodate a plastic streamer. The collar prevents direct impingement of the water against the forward edge of the streamer.

  • Publication number: 20020040545
Abstract: A propeller 33 is disposed on a bearing collar 42 to rotate about a shaft 10 of a lure 32. The propeller has a plurality of blades 36, each having a proximal portion 37 with a first degree of pitch and a distal portion 38 having a second degree of pitch which is different than said first degree of pitch. The blades may have distal ends which have the same direction of pitch as the proximal ends, or distal ends which have pitch opposite to that of the proximal ends. The blades may have straight bends or curved bends between the proximal and distal portions, and each blade may comprise a single, smoothly curvilinear surface. The blades may have one or more holes of various sizes in one or more blades of each propeller, either in the distal portion or the proximal portion of the blades. One or more propellers may be mounted on buzz baits, top water lures including plugs, and on other lures.

  • Patent number: 6243982
Abstract: A spinner shape (10) cut and formed to resemble a small bait fish which exhibits rotation (40) in moving air or water as a result of action against the broad surfaces of the tail fin plates (24) and the internal broad surfaces of the spinner bodies (28). The spinner shape is then journaled on a shaft (32) through center hole (14) and adjoined tab holes (12) for assembly as an in-line spinning lure (30), or is adjoined at the opposite ends with a split ring (46) to be attached by way of a swivel (50) to a “V” frame spinner bait (48) or to a jig spinner (49).
