Abstract: The bait lock structure is a towed device. The bait lock socket is adapted for use with a bait fish. The bait lock socket is adapted for use with a game fish. The bait lock socket displays the bait fish in order to attract and capture the game fish. The bait lock socket incorporates a lure structure, a locking post, and a capture structure. The locking post secures the capture structure to the lure structure. The bait fish attaches to the lure structure. The capture structure captures the game fish.

Abstract: A modular hook and lure system. The lure body includes a central passage running parallel to its longitudinal axis. The central passage passes completely through the lure body from its forward end to its aft end. The forward portion of the passage is a leader bore which is made large enough to accommodate the leader but not the hook. The aft portion of the passage opens into a hook bore, which can accommodate the eye and shank portion of a hook. The leader is passed completely through the passage and out the aft end of the lure body. It is then attached to a hook. The eye and shank portion of the hook is then pulled within the hook bore, so that only a portion of the hook extends beyond the lure body. A weed guard is attached to the body, with a free end of the weed guard extending out to the position of a hook tip, so that the free end of the weed guard may be engaged with the hook tip.

Abstract: A fishing lure, generally the size and shape of a bait fish such as a minnow, is equipped with a safety feature, whereby the lure comprises a hook, preferably positioned on the under surface corresponding to the bait fish's belly, and a spring-biased shell, pivotally connected to the body and positioned such that the shell shields the hook completely when the shell is in a first position and the lure is out of the water, and exposes the hook when the shell is in a second position while the lure is in water, thereby permitting the lure to be used for fishing while preventing injuries from mishandling.

Abstract: A fishing lure, comprising a weighted head to which a hook, spinner and weed guard are attached, and three cutouts made of a flexible, absorbent material that are wrapped and tied around a load collar or extension from the head. The cutouts will make the lure resemble a bait fish such as is eaten by the fish that the user wants to catch. The cutouts may be decorated with beads, feathers and paint, to increase the resemblance to bait fish. The wiggling motion of the jig as it is pulled through the water and the rotation of the spinner will attract fish. Scent may be absorbed and released by the cutouts to further attract fish. The head is preferably made from lead, and the cutouts are preferably made from a microfiber fabric. A first preferred embodiment is called the “switch back”, and a second preferred embodiment is called the “pop”.

Abstract: A fishing lure for use in fishing for wide mouth bass and similar species of fish. The fishing lure comprises a tadpole shaped lure having each of a predetermined color and a predetermined length and formed of a predetermined material. There is an extended tail member disposed on a back portion of the tadpole shaped fishing lure. At least one hook extends downward from a predetermined portion of the tadpole shaped lure. Such at least one hook is for lodging itself in a fish when such fish bites on the tadpole shaped lure. There is, further, a circular attachment disposed on a front portion of the tadpole shaped lure for attaching such tadpole shaped lure to a fishing line.

Abstract: A fishing lure is provided. When arranged as a jig, a head and a hook are attached. A trailer contacts a portion of the hook. A trailer keeper is also included and has a resilient member that engages the trailer. The trailer keeper is configured for limiting movement of the trailer along the hook. The trailer keeper is configured for biasing the trailer to a desired position.

Abstract: A fishing jig head to be molded with or inserted thereinto a hook thereby form a fishing jig, includes a body, a ring attached on the body, and plate(s) or prong(s) which is shaped and positioned to prevent the fishing jig from landing flat on a bottom of water after the fishing jig is cast into the water. A fishing jig includes the fishing jig head, a hook molded with or inserted into the jig head, and optionally at least one of a weedgurad, a skirt, and a trailer.

Abstract: The fishing jig has a molded body with a curved bottom surface that allows the body to pivot on a flat surface. A head projecting from the body acts as a counterweight to a hook extending from the body opposite the head to cause the jig to pivot when resting on a flat surface so that the hook is placed in a raised position. A weed guard is provided that is substantially invisible in water and a front-mounted skirt with trailers is mounted between the head and body to hide the hook and weed guard in use.
