  • Patent number: 7107720
Abstract: The present invention provides an improved diving fishing lure having a more durable and stable design that is capable of assisting today's fishermen as they target fish at increasingly greater depths and at faster trolling or retrieval speeds. The fishing lure includes a lure body having first and second ends, at least one fish hook extending from the lure body, and a diving lip extending from the first end of the lure body. According to one embodiment, the fishing lure includes a connector mounted to the diving lip, wherein the diving lip defines a recessed surface at least partially around the connector having a sidewall with a radius of approximately 0.30 inches to approximately 0.40 inches.

  • Patent number: 6820366
Abstract: A fishing lure that is automatically adjustable in order to maintain the lure at an optimum depth in a body of water. The lure has a central processing unit, a sender/receiver, and a depth varying mechanism. In response to signals from the sender/receiver, the central processing unit sends signals to control the depth varying mechanism in order to maintain the lure at a constant distance either the bottom or the surface of the body of water.

  • Patent number: 6618979
Abstract: A metal lip jig threader device for rigging a flexible plastic bait, frozen bait, cut fresh bait, and live bait having a metal lip with one hook on a leader line in one fluid step. Additional dressing such as feathers, fur or hair can be added to the lure. An improved method is shown for making a metallic lipped live or artificial fish lure with at least one hook. An improved metal lip jig is shown having a hook secured by a rivet and spurs.

  • Patent number: 6578313
Abstract: A fishing lure is disclosed which comprises a body which has a first end which has an externally attached fishing hook positioned thereat. A second opposite end of the body has a thin plate projecting outwardly therefrom in the shape of a circular arc bib. The bib has a hole therein which is fitted with an omega clip and a split ring so that the omega clip is held loosely in position by the split ring. A fishing line can be attached to the split ring in use. The body has a center of buoyancy closer to the first end than the second end. The location of the center of buoyancy of the lure, the shape of the body and the way in which the line is fastened to the bib contribute to the oscillatory motion of the lure when it traverses through water.

  • Patent number: 6484434
Abstract: A fishing lure comprising a body having a nose, a tail and a horizontal center line. There is an emergent lip of an inverted trapezoidal shape attached to the body. The emergent lip is adjacent to the nose of the body at approximately a 45° angle to the centerline. The body of the lure includes one or more weights secured in cavities in the body, which causes the lure to sink in the water when at rest and retain the emergent lip up right when under water. The emergent lip causes the lure to rise in the water when the lure is pulled by fishing line attached to an eyelet on the nose of the body between the emergent lip and the centerline. A lure according to this invention further includes one or more eyelets on the body for attachment of fishhooks.

  • Patent number: 6453599
Abstract: A fishing lure is disclosed having a body with two sections that move relative to one another. An aft section is connected via a shaft to a fore section and is slidable toward and away from the aft section along the shaft as the lure is pulled through the water. A contact post mounted on a rear end of the fore section or a fore end of the rear section impacts the other section as the lure is pulled through the water producing a clicking or popping sound which attracts fish.

  • Patent number: 6374535
Abstract: A fishing lure comprising a crankbait or similar body member to which both a spinner and a hook are attached, provides the crankbait with a realistic swimming motion. In particular, the spinning of the spinner, coupled with its positioning on the crankbait, imparts an oscillating, swimming-like motion to the crankbait, which greatly enhances the luring of fish. This is in addition to the benefits already derived by virtue of the spinning of the spinner.

  • Patent number: 6173522
Abstract: A fishing lure provides a lateral surface run during retrieval by utilizing a generally upright front surface (A) extending across an integral body which floats or is generally of substantially neutral buoyancy. A weight (B) is carried by the lure body to adjust the balance and path traversed during retrieval and to maintain a generally upright side wall (D) in position for attachment of a line to a connector (C) located in an elongated tunnel (E) intermediate upper and lower edges of the tunnel. The method contemplates utilizing an upright front surface (A) tapering across the lure body for providing lateral direction during retrieval, together with the step of fixing a connector to an upright side from about ¼ to about ⅓ of the length of the body from the front.
