Patent number: 8227165Abstract: A receiver having an image side and a non-image side bent in a bend area including a bend axis. Toner is deposited on the image side of the receiver in the bend area using an electrophotographic print engine. The deposited toner is fused to the receiver. During or after fusing, the fused toner is heated to a selected fusing temperature greater than or equal to the Tg of the toner. A heat-shrinkable film is affixed to the heated toner after heating the toner, wherein the Tg of the film is greater than the Tg of the toner. The toner is cooled below its Tg after affixing the film. The bend area of the receiver is reheated after cooling the toner, so that the temperature of the heat-shrinkable film rises above its Tg, the heat-shrinkable film contracts, and the receiver bends at the bend axis.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2010Date of Patent: July 24, 2012Assignee: Eastman Kodak CompanyInventor: Dinesh Tyagi

Patent number: 4563415Abstract: Thermographic composition comprising a leuco dye, a nitrate salt, and, optionally, an acid and stabilizing compound. The leuco dye contains a phenazine nucleus with naphthoyl substitutents on the 10-position and, optionally on one or both of the 3- and 7-positions through an amino group. In their oxidized form, the leuco dyes of this invention provide access to a range of red and magenta colors which exhibit greater stability when subjected to light and temperatures characteristic of the stage of overhead projectors than that exhibited by previously available leuco dyes of this color range.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 1984Date of Patent: January 7, 1986Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Harvey A. Brown, Louis M. Leichter, Alan G. Miller

Patent number: 4469773Abstract: A coupler containing in the coupling position a carbamoyloxy group ##STR1## upon oxidative coupling, releases a carbamic acid fragment that, in turn, is capable of thermally releasing ammonia or an amine. Such a carbamoyloxy substituted coupler and carbamic acid fragment are useful in imaging such as in photothermography and thermography. Ammonia or an amine released from the carbamic acid fragment enables imaging in imaging materials that are responsive to ammonia or an amine. The carbamoyloxy substituted coupler also generally is a dye-forming coupler that reacts with the oxidized form of a color developing agent to form a dye. An image is produced in an exposed photothermographic material comprising the carbamoyloxy substituted coupler by thermal development. An image is produced in a thermographic material comprising the carbamoyloxy substituted coupler and a color developing agent by imagewise heating the thermographic material.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 1983Date of Patent: September 4, 1984Assignee: Eastman Kodak CompanyInventors: Anthony Adin, Csaba A. Kovacs, Delwyn E. Machiele
