Abstract: The present invention relates to photographic elements, including photographic prints, having a protective overcoat that resists fingerprints, common stains, and spills. More particularly, the present invention provides a processing-solution-permeable protective overcoat that is water resistant in the final processed product and which, at the same time, provides improved wet-abrasion resistance.

Abstract: A non-hydroquinone and non-alkali metal hydroxide containing developer composition for radiographic materials and a method of use thereof are provided. The developer composition comprises a developer selected from the group consisting of ascorbic acid and sugar-type derivatives thereof, stereoisomers and diastereoisomers of ascorbic acid and its sugar-type derivatives, their salts and mixtures thereof, together with a sulfite, a 3-pyrazolidone compound, and an anti-swelling agent selected from the group consisting of sodium sulfate, glutaraldehyde or mixtures thereof, said composition having a pH of from 9.5 to 10.6, and said developer being present in an amount of at least about 15 grams, said sulfite being present in an amount of from 2 to 50 grams, said swelling control agent being present in an amount of from 35 to 90 grams, and water to 1.0 liter.
Abstract: A method for development processing of a silver halide photosensitive material using an automatic processor including at least the functions of development, fixing, washing and drying is disclosed, comprising using an alkaline developer containing a dialdehyde film hardening agent and carrying out the processing under conditions such that the running equilibrium pH of the fixer is at least 4.6.
Abstract: A method for processing a silver halide photographic material is described, comprising the steps of:(a) developing a silver halide photographic material comprising a support having thereon at least one hydrophilic colloidal layer, including at least one light-sensitive emulsion layer containing tabular silver halide grains having an aspect ratio of at least about 4, the total number of hydrophilic colloidal layers having a degree of swelling of about 250% or less; and(b) after developing a predetermined amount of said silver halide photographic material, adding a single replenisher of the developer comprising a 3-pyrazolidone developing agent represented by formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.o represents a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group; and R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.
Abstract: Photographic processing chemicals in the form of granulates having an average particle diameter of from 150 to 3000 .mu.m containing a polymer having a molar mass of from 6,000,000 to 14,000,000 in a quantity from 1 to 1,000 mg/kg of granulate consisting of at least 80 mol % of one or more of the monomers, acrylamide, acrylic acid and cationic monomer or mixtures of acrylamide and cationic or anionic monomer are distinguished by being easy to prepare, dust free and freely pourable.
Abstract: A method for forming an image comprising the steps of:(a) imagewise exposing a light-sensitive silver halide photographic material comprising a support having provided on at least one surface thereof a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion, at least one of an active halogen hardening agent and a bisvinylsulfone hardening agent, and a slightly water-soluble basic metallic compound; and(b) developing said exposed material with a developer solution containing a compound capable of reacting with said basic metallic compound to release a base.
Abstract: Lignosulfonates are incorporated in photographic developing compositions containing an indazole antifoggant in order to prevent or retard the precipitation of the indazole. Both black-and-white developing compositions, containing such developing agents as dihydroxybenzenes and/or pyrazolidones, and color developing compositions, containing primary aromatic amino color developing agents, are effectively stabilized against precipitation of indazole antifoggants by the lignosulfonates.
