The candle has a tapered body that extends along a longitudinal axis from a top portion to a bottom portion, where the top portion has a larger diameter than the bottom portion. Vertical grooves are cut into the outside surface of the tapered body to form segments. When the candle is burned, the center portion of the candle about the wick melts according to the candles defined heat radius. As the candle continues to burn, the wax material begins to soften and the segments between the vertical grooves will begin to separate away from the tapered body. As melting continues, the segments continue to separate in an outward and downward direction, resembling petals from a blooming flower. Abstract: The present invention relates to a flame reaction material, particularly a gas combustion flame reaction material for gas combustion appliances and a flame reaction member thereof. The gas combustion flame reaction material is formed by a single alkali metal or alkaline earth metal compound, and said alkali metal or alkaline earth metal compound has a melting point lower than combustion temperature of combustible gases and produces a crystal after high-temperature combustion. The flame reaction member comprises a substrate and a flame reaction material adhered to the surface of the substrate in the form of crystal. The substrate is a metal conductor. Because the gas combustion flame reaction material is formed by a single alkali metal or alkaline earth metal compound, the proportion of it to other materials is not required to consider when fabricated and thus it is convenient to produce.

Abstract: A candle top and reshaper fit snuggly over a candle. The reshaper includes interior and straight tapered, curved or otherwise angled sidewalls that when fitted over a burning candle, the softened candle rim and sides are forced back into the center of the candle, causing the softened rim to reshape and prolong the candle burn time. Alternatively the walls of the reshaper are vertical and force the softened sides and rim down and into the center. The reshaper also protects the softened and liquefied wax of the candle from dirt and insects during the re-cooling process and the top provides a decorative cover when candles are stored.

Abstract: A liquid fuel lamp for burning fuel comprises a plurality of wicks. The lamp has a fuel tank for initially receiving the liquid fuel, a plurality of reservoirs, each holding a wick, and at least one conduit. The conduit is in fluid communication with at least one respective reservoir and the fuel tank, and carries the liquid fuel by way of gravitational force to the reservoir, with which the reservoir forms a housing for the wick. Thus, fuel may distributed to all reservoirs and wicks from a central tank into which fuel is deposited.

Abstract: A piezoelectric lighter includes a lighter casing, an ignition nozzle, a gas releasing valve, a piezoelectric unit, and a hidden push button arrangement. The hidden push button arrangement includes a push button which has a pusher end portion, a pivot end portion pivotally mounted at the lighter casing at the button receiving slot thereof, and a button surface extended from the pusher end portion and the pivot end portion, adapted to pivotally fold between an operation position and a hidden position. At the hidden position, the pusher end portion of the push button is folded into the button receiving slot to align the button surface of the push button with the outer surface of the lighter casing so as to completely hide the push button in the button receiving slot within the lighter casing.

  • Patent number: 7232550
Abstract: A fluid-burning lamp that delivers a fragrance(s) and is aesthetically pleasing. The fluid-burning lamp includes a fragrance-dispensing element that contains a material that slowly melts and forms a liquid pool when the lamp is lit. The slow-melting material gives the fluid-burning lamp the appearance of a traditional wax candle, when the lamp is viewed from the top. Other elements of the fluid-burning lamp include a fluid container for holding a combustible fluid to be used as fuel for the burn, and a wick assembly containing a wick having a lower portion that extends into the combustible fluid. The fluid container for holding the combustible fluid may also hold various immersions, such as, for example, fruits, colored marbles, leaves, seeds, sprigs, or flowers, in order to provide the ultimate in flexibility for home décor.

Abstract: A triacylglycerol-based wax, which can be used in candle making, is provided. The triacylglycerol-based material is predominantly includes a triacylglycerol stock which has a fatty acid profile has no more than about 25 wt. % fatty acids having less than 18 carbon atoms. In addition, the fatty acid profile of the triacylglycerol typically includes at least about 50 wt. % 18:1 fatty acid and no more than about 25 wt. % 18:0 fatty acid. In another embodiment, the triacylglycerol-based material is characterized in part by an Iodine Value of about 60 to about 75. For applications such as candles, the wax commonly includes a hydrogenated vegetable oil and palmitic acid. Candles formed from triacylglycerol-based material and methods of producing the candles are also provided.

  • Patent number: 7214054
Abstract: In a first broad aspect, the invention provides an apparatus usable with a liquid. The apparatus includes a container for receiving the liquid and an object. The object is substantially buoyant and supportable by the liquid while being at least in part submerged into the liquid. A first magnet is mounted to the object, the first magnet defining first magnet first and second magnetic poles having opposed polarities. A second magnet is movable over a predetermined path relatively to the container. The second magnet defines second magnet first and second magnetic poles having opposed polarities. Moving the second magnet over the predetermined path modifies the magnetic fields present substantially adjacent the first magnet, thereby causing a force onto the object.
