Abstract: A steam boiler includes a boiler housing. A helical coil for boiling water and superheating the wet steam is disposed within the boiler housing. A burner emits combustion gases which heat a heat emitter which is disposed in the inner space of the helical coil. Combustion gases from the burner enter the internal cavity of the heat emitter and then pass through perforations in the heat emitter before contacting the helical coil. As such, the heat emitter is heated by the combustion gases and serves as a radiant heat source for the helical coil.

  • Patent number: 8714969
Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel combustion method in which one jet of fuel and at least two jets of oxidant are injected. According to the invention, the first jet of oxidant, known as the primary oxidant jet, is injected such as to be in contact with the jet of fuel and to produce a first incomplete combustion, the gases produced by said first combustion comprising at least one part of the fuel, and the second jet of oxidant is injected at a distance from the jet of fuel such as to combust with the part of the fuel present in the gases produced by the first combustion. Moreover, the primary oxidant jet is divided into two primary jets, namely: a first primary oxidant jet, known as the central jet, which is injected at the centre of the jet of fuel; and a second primary oxidant jet, knows as the sheathing jet, which is injected coaxially around the fuel jet.

  • Patent number: 5413477
Abstract: A gas-fired burner incorporating an air driven jet pump for mixing air, fuel, and recirculated flue gas with reduced heat loss from the recirculated flue gas is disclosed. The burner is configured for the staged introduction of combustion air to provide a fuel-rich combustion zone and a fuel-lean combustion zone. Internal flue gas channels deliver cooled flue gas to the primary fuel-rich combustion zone. A valve assembly may be provided to control the flow of flue gas. Secondary air channels concentrically arranged within the flue gas channels deliver superheated, staged air to the secondary fuel-lean combustion zone. Heat is transferred from the hot flue gas to the counterflowing cooler secondary air.
