Held By Latch, Latch Released By Sensor Patents (Class 431/84)
  • Patent number: 10928134
Abstract: Flue gases are produced in a combustion chamber of a burner unit, in particular for the combustion of exhaust air. Combustion gas can be supplied to a gas burner via a combustion gas line and feed air, in particular exhaust air that can be used as feed air, is supplied to said burner via a feed air line. The feed air is divided into primary air and secondary air by a device. The primary air is mixed with the combustion gas, in a mixing zone, to form a primary air/combustion gas mixture, said primary air/combustion gas mixture being supplied to the combustion chamber. A flue gas re-circulation system comprises a through-flow chamber which is connected to the combustion chamber and in which the secondary air is mixed with the flue gases occurring in the combustion chamber to form a secondary air/flue-gas mixture. The secondary air/flue-gas mixture is supplied to the primary air/combustion gas mixture in the combustion chamber by means of a device.

  • Patent number: 6766820
Abstract: An improved pilot guard for controlling the flow of gaseous fuel to both a pilot burner and a main burner, the pilot valve comprising a housing having an inlet port, a pilot port and a main burner port; a bore extending through the housing between the pilot port and main burner port; a stop shuttle normally biased to a seated position in which it blocks communication between the inlet port and the bore; a reset shuttle positioned in the bore for lifting the stop shuttle from its seated position, the reset shuttle supporting a sealing member for sealing the inlet port from the main burner port but permitting communication between the inlet port and the pilot port when the reset shuttle lifts the stop shuttle from its seated position; a thermocouple capable of generating a current from the heat of the pilot burner; an electromagnet connected to the thermocouple and capable, when fully energized, of holding the stop shuttle from moving to its seated position; wherein the reset shuttle is movable by the force of

  • Patent number: 6164958
Abstract: A safety system for a gas burning device, such as a gas range having a plurality of burner assemblies. The safety system generally comprises a gas supply valve, a gas flow sensor, a gas leak warning circuit, a no-flame warning circuit, a gas supply valve controller for receiving warning signals from the warning circuits and for closing said gas supply valve in response thereto and a fan controller for activating the fan. Other warning circuits include a timer warning circuit and a smoke detection warning circuit. A display panel shows which warning circuit has issued a warning signal. A microprocessor may perform many system functions.

  • Patent number: 5203688
Abstract: A fuel gas control valve capable of internationally acceptable operation, including a main valve operable in an on-off mode by an electromagnetic actuator that receives a signal from a conventional electric thermostat. A pilot valve is initially operated by a manual control, and is retained in the operating position by a power unit responsive to sensed presence of a pilot flame. A latching mechanism associated with the manual control interrelates with the main valve and overrides operation of the electromagnetic actuator in the event the pilot flame is extinguished for any reason. The valve also includes a mechanism that retains the manual control in pilot position until the pilot flame is established.

  • Patent number: 5193993
Abstract: A gas valve having a main valve closure member whose position is controlled both by a pivoting lever arrangement and a thermostatically controlled solenoid. The closure member is biased toward the lever by a spring between the closure member and the lever, and the lever is biased to position the closure member against a stationary valve seat. The lever is pivotable against its bias by a mechanical latch arrangement which forms part of a manual control, whereby when the lever is pivoted against its bias, the thermostatically controlled solenoid is permitted to engage the closure member, and, in the absence of demand from the thermostat, to move the closure member toward the valve seat against the bias of the spring between the closure member and lever.
