Patent number: 8945349Abstract: An electrical heating coal material decomposition apparatus includes a closed kiln body with a feed inlet, a discharge outlet, and an electrical heating device arranged in the kiln body. A propulsion and decomposition path of coal material is formed between the electrical heating device and the inner wall of the kiln body. A coal decomposition gas collecting pipe communicates with the propulsion and decomposition path of coal material, and is connected with a gas dust-trapping and liquefying device arranged outside the kiln. The electrical heating device transfers heat to the pulverized coal inside the propulsion and decomposition path of coal material by conduction and irradiation. The pulverized coal absorbs sufficient heat and decomposes into fuel gas, tar gas and coal. The fuel gas and tar gas enters the gas dust-trapping and liquefying mechanism through the decomposed gas collecting tube, where they are collected, dust-trapped, separated and liquefied under pressure.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2010Date of Patent: February 3, 2015Assignee: Xixia Dragon Into Special Material Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shucheng Zhu, Xibin Wang, Xiangyun Huang, Guochao Cao, Wei Liu

Patent number: 7789660Abstract: A pusher furnace includes furnace sections having respective susceptors, a slide rail extending through the furnace sections for sliding pusher plates thereon and an alignment assembly for aligning the susceptors and slide rails of adjacent furnace sections. A support structure spaces the susceptors from insulation therebelow to protect the insulation from degradation from contact with the susceptors. The susceptors are slidably mounted on the support structure to accommodate thermal expansion and shrinkage of the susceptor. The upstream end of the slide rails have beveled upper edges to help prevent the pusher plates from catching thereon. The upstream ends are also laterally tapered to reduce the degree of force encountered should a pusher plate catch thereon. Adjacent insulation members have expansion joints filled with a refractory felt. The susceptors slidably and sealingly engage exhaust ports to allow for thermal expansion and shrinkage of the susceptor without damaging the exhaust port.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2006Date of Patent: September 7, 2010Assignee: Ajax Tocco Magnethermic CorporationInventors: Anthony M. Patent number: 6926522Abstract: An apparatus for preheating particulate material in which the particulate material is transferred from one or more upper storage bins to a circular lower chamber that has an outer, essentially annular, portion which serves as a gas flow passage. The particulate material is directed from the feed bin or bins into a plurality of essentially vertical cylindrical feed cassettes via intermediate feed ducts. The lower chamber has a flat roof which is in contact with the bottom portion of the vertical feed cassettes. The vertical feed cassettes are approximately evenly spaced on top of the outer perimeter of the flat roof. The particulate material is preheated in the annular flow passage by hot kiln gases flowing in countercurrent heat exchange relationship with the particulate material.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2003Date of Patent: August 9, 2005Assignee: FFE Minerals USA Inc.Inventors: John P. Patent number: 6910882Abstract: The invention comprises, in one form thereof, a continuous processing apparatus for high temperature thermal treatment of granular materials. The apparatus includes a vertical conveyor means with an internal feed mechanism for transporting granular feedstock upward, an external export means for taking reacted product downward wherein said internal feed heats said granular feedstock by absorbing heat from the product flowing downward through said export means, and a heating means disposed around a top portion of said vertical conveyor means and said external export means.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2003Date of Patent: June 28, 2005Assignees: Harper International Corporation, SGL Carbon AGInventors: Charles Miller, William Stry, Uwe Hoechst, Ludger Fischer

Patent number: 4862601Abstract: Particulate solids material contaminated with volatile vaporizable fluids are treated by an apparatus comprising an elongated inclined housing having a hollow conveyor screw disposed therein for rotation to move material from a lower inlet end of the housing to an upper inclined end of the housing for discharge through a bottom outlet opening. The conveyor screw is constructed from a hollow hub member having an upper open end and a lower end with a plurality of openings for conveying heat exchange pebbles or spheres from the upper end of the housing to the lower end through the interior of the hub. A combustor is disposed within the interior of the hub for generating combustion gasses which heat the conveyor screw and the heat exchange pebbles prior to entry of the pebbles into mixing with the material being conveyed through the apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 1988Date of Patent: September 5, 1989Assignee: Atlantic Richfield CompanyInventor: Lloyd A. Patent number: 4702695Abstract: A housing section for a twin screw shaft machine which has a load-bearing outer housing with a substantially rectangular outer cross section, an inner housing designed as an abrasion insert and a heating device encompassing the outer housing. The outer cross section of the inner housing and the inner cross section of the outer housing are substantially rectangular and the heating device and the outer housing are divided approximately diagonally in the longitudinal direction. The individual parts are therefore easy to manufacture and may be tightened against one another in even overall engagement.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 1986Date of Patent: October 27, 1987Inventor: Josef A. Patent number: 4399906Abstract: A screw conveyor (10) is disclosed for use in environments having a large range of temperature. The screw conveyor (10) includes a hollow shaft (12) having a number of aligned circular holes (18a, 18b) therein, with adjacent sets of holes being at right angles to each other. A stake (16) is slidably inserted in each set of holes (18a, 18b) for securing a helical flight (14a-e) to the shaft (12). Four stakes (16) are welded to the back (26) of each of the helical flights (14) along a helical line corresponding to the helical path defined by the flights (14). The slidable interaction of the stakes (16) with respect to the shaft (12) permits each flight (14) to move relative to the shaft (12) during expansion or contraction of the screw conveyor (10). The back peripheral edge (20) and front peripheral edge (22) of adjacent helical flights (14) are overlapping and movable with respect to each other to further accommodate the expansion and contraction of the screw conveyor (10).Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 1981Date of Patent: August 23, 1983Assignee: Thomas Conveyor Company, Inc.Inventor: Cecil E.
