Having Branch Connection To Common Flue Patents (Class 432/170)
  • Patent number: 7926197
Abstract: A process and device for drying the coating of containers made of thermoplastic material. The process involves feeding said containers through a furnace divided into two areas: in the first, most of the solvent of the coating is removed by heating the paint with infrared lamps, while the temperature of the containers is controlled through an airflow; in the second, the remaining solvent is removed using said airflow coming from the first area of the furnace.

  • Patent number: 6287111
Abstract: A heating system according to the present invention is divided into two interconnected compartments, the first having at least one burner feeder and the second having at least one receiver burner. The thermal output of these units may be equal or unequal to match the heat recovery requirements and requirements of the receiver burner for feeder flue gas. Fuel is fed to both the feeder and receiver burners. Heat from both burners heats the fluid to be heated within the heating system. The flue gas exiting from the feeder compartment is introduced and mixed into the receiver burners air supply, similar to conventional flue gas recirculation (FGR) type low NOx burners. The feeder may use a lean premix or rich burn quench technique to achieve low-NOx. Only one combustion air fan is required. The Ductwork is not exposed or the external exposure is very short as compared to much greater lengths of external duct work in conventional flue gas recirculation systems.

  • Patent number: 5730945
Abstract: A purge retention chamber is incorporated into an inlet manifold for a two heat exchanger RTO system. A bypass valve is mounted into the purge retention chamber adjacent a downstream end, and a purge face valve is mounted in the inlet manifold between upstream and downstream connection ends of the purge retention chamber. During normal operation, the bypass valve is closed and clean air fills the purge retention chamber. Dirty air to be cleaned passes through the purge face valve and moves to a heat exchanger in an inlet mode. When a purge mode begins, the purge face valve is closed and the purge bypass valve is opened. Now, clean purge gas moves into the inlet manifold and is delivered to a heat exchanger which is beginning to switch from an inlet mode to an outlet mode. The clean purge gas purges the heat exchanger. Once the purging is complete, the heat exchangers are switched between inlet and outlet modes.

  • Patent number: 5201653
Abstract: An apparatus for heat-treating substrates includes a plurality of heat-treating units arranged in vertical stages, and at least one hollow column for supporting the heat-treating units. Each heat-treating unit has an exhaust line communicating with the column to exhaust gases from the heat-treating units through the column by suction.

  • Patent number: 5110338
Abstract: An apparatus (10) is disclosed for treating a glass sheet (22) including a substantially enclosed chamber (14) containing a chamber atmosphere (24) in which the glass sheet (22) may be treated. Apparatus (10) also includes gas turbine engine (12) which generates heated pressurized exhaust gases which are provided to chamber (14) to treat glass sheet (22). In one embodiment, conveyor (26) is used to support glass sheet (22) in the chamber atmosphere (24). Air bed plate (72) is used to support the glass in an alternate apparatus embodiment (68).

  • Patent number: 4317290
Abstract: An apparatus for the heat treatment of a material passing through a plurality of treatment zones using a heated gaseous treatment medium conducted in a substantially closed circuit through these zones. A heat exchanger is associated with each treatment zone. The heat exchanger defines, in an operative relation with the respective treatment zone a medium discharge path and a medium replacement path which paths are arranged in a heat exchange relationship. The fractional portion of a treatment medium discharged from each treatment zone transfers its heat and energy to the fresh replacement medium. A throttle or flow control in the medium replacement path for each treatment zone permits individualized control of draft and medium turnover according to the different conditions prevailing in each zone. A filter is also provided to prevent impurities in the medium discharge flow path from entering the heat exchanger.
