Abstract: Described is an apparatus for separating contaminated material from impurities contained therein, by heating by means of hot gases. The apparatus has receiving chambers for accommodating the contaimated materials, and heating chambers which surround the respective receiving chambers. Each heating chamber is divided into first and second chamber means of which one is designed to carry a flow of burner gas while the second is designed to carry a flow of coolant. The first and second chamber means extend in mutually separate relationship and in a helical configuration around the associated receiving chamber. Each receiving chamber has gas distributor members to produce a turbulent flow in the chamber.
Abstract: An apparatus (10) is disclosed for treating a glass sheet (22) including a substantially enclosed chamber (14) containing a chamber atmosphere (24) in which the glass sheet (22) may be treated. Apparatus (10) also includes gas turbine engine (12) which generates heated pressurized exhaust gases which are provided to chamber (14) to treat glass sheet (22). In one embodiment, conveyor (26) is used to support glass sheet (22) in the chamber atmosphere (24). Air bed plate (72) is used to support the glass in an alternate apparatus embodiment (68).
Abstract: A machine for drying textile materials, which comprises a casing, electrically driven means for feeding the textile material through the casing, electrically driven means for circulating hot gas within the casing, a gas turbine engine, an alternator driven by the gas turbine engine and providing electrical power for said feeding and circulating means and trunking for feeding the exhaust gas of the gas turbine engine into the interior of the casing.
Abstract: An apparatus for preparing multiphase gypsum and particularly wall plaster which has an exactly defined composition comprises a plurality of heating stages including at least one high temperature stage and at least two first and second separate low temperature stages. Heating gases are directed from a combustion chamber first to the high temperature stage and subsequently into each of the lower temperature stages. One of the low temperature stages is employed as a pre-burner and it is fed with materials from a common storage bin to pre-burn the material and then direct it to the high temperature stage. The other stage is provided with the heating gases from the high temperature stage and in addition it is controlled as to temperature, humidity and quantity of heating gases in its products together with the high temperature stage products after treatment are delivered to a common cooling device.
