  • Patent number: 11406488
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing fixation of soft tissue (for example, ligament) to bone by employing a novel multi-piece device. The novel multi-piece device is a ligament fixation system consisting of a larger collar that is initially impacted into a bone aperture, and a smaller plug/bullet-shaped part that is impacted into the larger collar. During ligament repair/reconstruction, the graft is inserted into a bone tunnel with sutures from the graft extending outside the tunnel. The sutures are passed through a collar of the multi-part device and the collar is then inserted into the bone tunnel. The graft suture strands may be tensioned. Subsequently, the smaller plug/bullet-shaped part is impacted into the collar thereby maintaining the tension on the graft sutures. The plug/bullet-shaped part is tightened after the desired tension on the suture is achieved.

Abstract: The invention relates to a scan abutment (2), in particular an integrally manufactured scan abutment, for determination of the position of the front face (1.1) of a dental endosseous implant (1), wherein the abutment (2) has a longish, hollow shaft (4), and the shaft has an upper region (4.1), a central region (4.2) and a lower region (4.3). Moreover, the shaft (4) of the scan abutment with its central region (4.2) is attachable onto the front face (1.1) of the implant (1), and its lower region (4.3) is insertable into the connection geometry of the implant. The longish, hollow shaft (4) has a side wall (10). The shaft of the scan abutment has at least two to terminally extending slits (5) in its central region (4.2) and lower region (4.3) in the side wall (10). Two, three or four slits are preferred. Preferably, the slits (5) end in one recess (6) each, such as a circular recess, in the side wall (10) at their upper end and extend terminally in the side wall (10) to the bottom side of the shaft (4).

Abstract: A dental abutment coping or ring for securing a dental prosthesis to dental abutments. The coping or ring includes a body for insertion into a dental prosthesis, and a cavity or space sized to accept a head of the dental abutment. The interior surface of the cavity includes an interface region sized and shaped to accept the dental abutment in a retentive interface fit or a passive fit, depending on an angle of the interface surface. The exterior surface can have channels configured to contain a cement bonding the exterior surface to the dental prosthesis. A dental prosthesis system including the dental copings provides a retentive interference fit between the prosthesis and the dental abutments, even where the dental abutments are not parallel. A plurality of copings and abutments enables a retentive fit to varying degrees depending on the degree of interference fit in each coping and abutment.
