Abstract: An artificial tooth system, including a denture-engaging body portion, a first recess formed in the denture-engaging body portion, and a pivot base positioned within the first recess and operationally connected to the denture-engaging body portion. A generally spherical ball connector extends from the pivot base. A pivot platform is pivotably connected to the generally spherical ball portion and a resilient ring is positioned around the generally spherical ball connector and situated between the pivot base and the pivot platform. A membrane is sealingly connected around the pivot base and the pivot platform. The tooth also includes a crown portion with a second recess formed in the crown portion, wherein the pivot platform is positioned within the second recess.

Abstract: The invention relates to the field of prosthetic dentistry and can be used in the manufacture of removable dental prostheses. A removable dental prosthesis with a framework and a soft base comprises artificial teeth, a soft base made of silicone A, and a one-piece, perforated metal framework with a metal fastening element for the artificial teeth, said framework being situated inside the soft silicone A base. The artificial teeth fastening element is in the form of an arc situated about the centre of the alveolar process across the full width thereof and above the perforated metal framework, to which it is connected by connection sites having an analogous cross section. The one-piece, perforated metal framework is in the form of a one-piece plate having a cross section of from 0.3 mm to 0.5 mm and having openings with a diameter of from 1 mm across the entire surface of the framework. The one-piece, perforated metal framework is modeled together with the artificial teeth fastening element.

  • Patent number: 8206152
Abstract: Method for producing a base part of a set of artificial teeth, or a set of artificial teeth having a base part, comprising the step of forming the base part by a rapid prototyping process, e.g. 3D lithography and, in particular, 3D laser lithography. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method of establishing a data set representing the shape of a base part of a set of artificial teeth, wherein a gum area or a model thereof is scanned and/or a model of a base part is scanned and/or the shape of the base part is simulated on a computer.

  • Patent number: 7175437
Abstract: A positioning aid, formed T-shaped, is adhesively attached to portions of a broken denture plate prior to placement of the dental plate portions into a dental impression tray whereby the positioning aids extend into and are embedded into the impression material in the dental tray and act as positioners and stabilizers to properly align and hold the dental plate portions while the dental impression material hardens.

  • Patent number: 5791901
Abstract: Disclosed is an artificial tooth that is structured such that the tooth is firmly held in its proper position in a core until a plate resin is fully polymerized and cured in succession to the manufacture of a wax denture. To this end, the artificial tooth has on its portion to be embedded into the core a projection for a temporary bond with the core. Also disclosed is a manufacturing method of an acrylic resin denture comprising the steps of forming a projection for a temporary bond with a core, on the portion of a finished artificial tooth to be -embedded into a core material before the finished artificial tooth is embedded into the core by applying a drop of resin that is of the same type as the material of the artificial tooth, and the step of removing the core along with the projection after a plate resin is polymerized.

  • Patent number: 5344457
Abstract: There is disclosed an implant for anchoring in bone and/or fibrous connective tissue and to which a prosthesis such as a dental bridge may be connected through connecting components. The implant is of tapered design defining a wide top portion for connection to the connecting components and a tapered body comprising upper and lower regions. The lower bone-engaging region of the implant is provided with a porous surface into which bone may grow thereby anchoring the implant. The upper region of the implant has a surface suitable for bone attachment which is different from the surface of the lower region. In one embodiment, the upper portion has a larger taper angle than the rest of the implant for increased stability and stress transfer to the surrounding bone. In another embodiment, the surface of the upper region is coated with a bioreactive coating to allow direct bonding of bone and/or soft connective tissue (gingival tissue) thereby inhibiting epithelial migration apically.

  • Patent number: 4267133
Abstract: A denture base is made of a photocuring resin compound by a process which includes polymerizing methacrylate and/or acrylate with the addition of a light sensitizer or a filler. Subsequent to a proper alignment of artificial teeth, the photo-curing or -hardening resin compound is hardened by exposure to light and artificial gingivae are formed by the same resin compound as above, followed by photocuring, thereby completing manufacture of the denture base.Advantageously, the method disclosed herein facilitates markedly the manufacture of denture bases in comparison with conventional methods such as thermal polymerization and casting. The resulting denture bases show excellent properties.
