  • Patent number: 12127851
Abstract: A method and system for augmented neurologic rehabilitation (ANR) of a patient is disclosed. The ANR system generates rhythmic auditory stimulus (RAS) and a visual augmented reality (AR) scene that are synchronized according to a common beat tempo and output to the patient during a therapy session. Sensor worn by the patient capture biomechanical data relating to repetitive movements performed by the patient in sync with the AR visual content and RAS. A critical thinking algorithm analyzes the sensor data to determine a spatial and temporal relationship of the patient's movements relative to the visual and audio elements and determine a level of entrainment of the patient and progression toward clinical/therapeutic goals. Additionally, a 3D AR modelling module configures the processor to dynamically adjust the augmented-reality visual and audio content output to the patient based on the determined level of entrainment and whether a training goal has been achieved.

  • Patent number: 11348478
Abstract: A motion training aid system for a person or animal to train bodily movement is provided. The system includes a motion sensor unit that attaches to a body part of the person or to an implement used by the person, a processor, and a stimulator attachable to the body of the person that receives a command and elicits a stimuli perceptible by the person. The motion sensor unit provides motion data to the processor, and the processor, based on the motion data from the motion sensor unit, tracks three dimensional positions of the motion sensor unit. The processor compares the motion sensor unit position with a reference track, and depending on the motion sensor unit position relative to the first three dimensional track, sends to the stimulator, a command to elicit an electrical stimulus when the motion sensor unit has reached a predefined deviation from the reference track.

  • Patent number: 11069249
Abstract: The present invention consists of a Multimedia Fall Prevention system serving the fall prevention needs of older adults. Every year approximately 1 in 3 older adults who are over 65 will fall according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The first step in preventing falls is for each person to understand those elements of their personal characteristics that make them likely to fall. Next, they must be able to recognize situations that may cause them to fall. A system is disclosed that addresses each of these issues. The system is comprised of three separate components: a personal interview, one or more training sessions, and one or more evaluations.

  • Patent number: 11049408
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and tools for enhancing cognition and improving well being in an individual. The methods involve presenting to an individual a task to be performed, presenting to the individual an interference, and receiving inputs from the individual. Where the interference is a distraction, the individual is to ignore the interference. Where the interference is an interruptor, the individual is instructed to respond to the interrupter as a secondary task and is said to be multi-tasking. Inputs are then also received from the individual pertaining to this secondary task. The methods encompass iterations of these presentating steps and receiving of the input, and generation of analysis and/or feedback to the individual. The methods can further include conducting an analysis and/or generating feedback to the individual. The analysis can include a comparison of the performances with or without each type of interference.

  • Patent number: 11017576
Abstract: A system and method may be used for reference model predictive tracking and rendering. Systems and methods may use computational systems, networking, or display hardware to seamlessly allow users to see their motion in real-time. The systems and methods may provide the brain the extra visual information to help a user converge to highly efficient high-quality technique (e.g., movement control) more rapidly than other processes. An approach to generating accurate models in delayed processing may include treating depth-sensor-derived skeletal inference of body position as statistical data about the underlying motion rather than a representation of that motion itself. In an example, a process for slicing up a time-series of body constructions in a motion model may use a full time series of positions for individual body segments, creating trajectories.
