Abstract: The present invention provides an active primer that includes an electronically active material dispersed in a binder. The active primer can be disposed between a thermal transfer donor sheet and a receptor to assist selective thermal transfer of a material from the donor sheet to the receptor to form at least a portion of an electronic device on the receptor. The binder of the active primer can be selected to improve adhesion of the transferred material to the receptor, or to enhance other transfer properties. The electronically active material of the active primer can be selected to maintain a desired level of functionality in the electronic device being patterned on the receptor.

Abstract: A reading machine and a method of teaching reading are disclosed in which a source of information to be read by a student learning how to read is scanned and entered into a memory. The words from the source are augmented with symbols and numbers to facilitate learning how to speak each sound of each syllable in the correct sequence.
Abstract: A system for training or aiding an impaired individual to perform a series of tasks at spaced work sites comprises a mobile device for being worn or carried by the individual. The mobile device comprises circuits and devices for detecting the position of the mobile device relative to the spaced work sites. It further comprises a programmed computer having a memory for storing a data structure associating each task with the ordinal number of the task, a task description, the site at which the task is to be performed, a flag or pointer indicative of whether a task has been performed and messages containing cues and/or instructions for each task. The programmed computer also comprises a memory and processor for storing and executing a program which based upon the task flag or pointer and the location of the mobile module for cueing and/or instructing the individual to perform a task at a site.
Abstract: An aid for speech therapy comprising a chart having a series of time frames of equal time intervals. Each of the time frames has an illustration of the human mouth to pictorially display the lips, tongue and jaw positions of the mouth in making a sound, word or phrase alphabetically displayed in the time frames. A sound reproducing device may also be provided to audibly reproduce the sound, word or phrase which is alphabetically displayed.

Abstract: Apparatus for teaching reading comprises a book having lines of printed text and recordings of the text on associated magnetic strips and a pick-up member of sufficient weight to rest securely on the magnetic strips is provided with a tension member by which the pick-up member may be drawn manually or by a spring motor along the magnetic strips. The pick-up member may be shaped in a manner designed to appeal to the imagination of a user, for example as an animal.
Abstract: An audio-visual teaching machine so made that, when any one of a plurality of independent visual teaching contents respectively appearing in a plurality of windows is pressed with a finger, an audio teaching content corresponding to the pressed visual teaching content may be automatically reproduced so as to be able to efficiently teach with a simple operation. This teaching machine is used together with a teaching card having a plurality of visual teaching contents on one surface and a plurality of magnetic tracks containing audio teaching contents corresponding to the respective visual teaching contents on the other surface. Until the teaching card is correctly set in the teaching machine, a buzzer will continue to sound. When the visual teaching content appearing in the window is pressed with a finger while the teaching card is set in a correct position, a lamp will be lighted to illuminate the window.
