Interference Simulation Patents (Class 434/7)
  • Patent number: 11074828
Abstract: A sonar target simulator (“STS”) for training a sonar operator is disclosed. The STS is configured to create a plurality of simulated scenarios within a gaming area having a plurality of environments. The STS includes one or more memory units storing real-world collected data, one or more processing units, and a computer-readable medium. The real-world collected data includes background signatures related to the plurality of simulated environments. The computer-readable medium has encoded thereon computer-executable instructions to cause the one or more processing units to generate a target signature from real-world collected data, generate an environmental model from the real-world data, and combine the target signature with the environmental model to create a simulated scenario, of the plurality of simulated scenarios, for use in the gaming area. In this example, the environmental model corresponds to an environment of the plurality of environments.

  • Patent number: 10578706
Abstract: A wireless sonar receiver is provided including a wireless receiver configured to receive sonar data from a wireless sonar transducer configured to receive sonar returns from an underwater environment as first sonar return data, convert the first sonar return data into sonar image data, and transmit the sonar image data wirelessly to the wireless sonar receiver. The wireless sonar receiver also includes a receiver processor and a receiver memory including computer program code configured to, with the receiver processor, cause the wireless sonar receiver to convert the sonar image data to second sonar return data corresponding to the sonar returns received by the wireless sonar transducer. The wireless sonar transducer also includes an output port configured to transmit the second sonar return data to a marine electronic device for processing of the second sonar return data to generate at least one sonar image for display on a user interface.

  • Patent number: 6442104
Abstract: A synthesizer and method for the generation of underwater background acoustic signals employs digital signal generation and processing in a multiplexed format. The synthesized digital signals comprise components of shaped noise, simple sinusoids, or double-sideband, suppressed-carrier, modulated sinusoids, or a combination of one or more of these signal types. Among the acoustic signals which are digitally synthesized are acoustic signals generated by antisubmarine-warfare hardware such as sonobuoys and hydrophones.

  • Patent number: 6002914
Abstract: A method and apparatus for simulating reverberation signals in a multipath onar system is provided. The invention includes an input means for providing a plurality of simulated sonar system parameters. A defining means is joined to the input means to establish a plurality of eigenray parameters with terms corresponding to at least one of the simulated sonar parameters. A reverberation means is joined to the defining means for extrapolating said defined eigenray parameters responsive to the simulated sonar parameters to produce output signals simulating reverberation in the multipath sonar system.

  • Patent number: 5995803
Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for producing an output simulating a tipath sonar system. An input means produces signals corresponding to sonar system parameters. A generator means is jointed to the input means to generate a plurality of eigenray parameters in response to the input signals. A processing means combines the generated eigenray parameters from the generate means with sonar system parameters from the input means to produce output signals. A report means is provided for generating reports simulating the response of a mulitpath sonar system to the output signals from the processing means.

  • Patent number: 5983067
Abstract: A method and apparatus for simulating the output of a multipath sonar sys. An eigenray module generates a plurality of eigenrays having terms that correspond with simulated parameters of a sonar system. A processing unit combines the eigenrays responsive to the simulated parameters to provide output signals that correspond with the output signals of a multipath sonar system. These signals may include one or more of the following types: lofargrams, autocorrelation coefficients, reverberation, and cross-correlations coefficients. The apparatus can also include a report generator for generating a display from the output signals.

  • Patent number: 5978647
Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for producing simulated autocorrelation coefficients of a multipath sonar system. An input means produces signals simulating sonar system parameters including total spectral density and erage pressure. A defining means produces a plurality of eigenrays with terms corresponding to these simulated system parameters. The present invention provides an autocorrelation means for interpolating the defined plurality of simulated sonar parameters to produce simulated autocorrelation coefficient output signals.
