Abstract: The present invention comprises a method and a device for connecting and locking electrical plugs into power outlets. This prevents plugs from being shaken or accidentally withdrawn, and hence avoids any disturbance of electric current or occurrence of electric spark which may cause fires. In the case where no plug is plugged in, the current invention blocks the socket openings to prevent children from tampering with it or trying to insert any metal objects therein that might expose them to electric shocks. By this invention, an adult can connect and lock electrical plugs easily while it is impossible doing it by children. There are various embodiments of this invention making it suitable for use in many fields that need a continuous electrical feed without interruption such as medical devices, computers, factory equipment, and home appliances among many other examples.

Further examples also provide a power and data adapter that can provide power and data to a mobile computing device using a single cable. Further examples provide an easy disengagement when a cable connected to the connector is pulled. One such example provides a magnetic connector that uncouples without binding when its cord is pulled. Another example prevents power from being provided at a connector insert until the connector insert is placed in a connector receptacle.

Abstract: The multi-socket power adapter includes a main housing unit and an extension unit mounted inside the main housing unit. The main housing unit includes a recess for the extension unit. A ribbon cable wound on a spool is housed inside the extension unit. The ribbon cable protrudes through the extension unit into the main housing unit to establish an electrical connection, which allows the extension unit to be used as a conventional extension cord. The extension unit includes a plurality of power plug sockets and a power switch for each plug socket so that power to each socket can be controlled. The main housing unit also includes a power switch and a power consumption monitor.

Abstract: Power plugs that provide reliable functionality, may be reliably manufactured, and have a pleasant appearance. One example may provide a power plug that functions in a reliable manner by providing a ground connection that may maintain its shape over several insertions and removals from a wall socket. A relatively large ground block may act as a heat sink to help reduce plug temperature during operation. Another example may provide a power plug that may be reliably manufactured by forming the ground block as a solid piece to prevent buckling and bending during plug manufacturing that may otherwise result. Another example may provide a power plug that has an attractive appearance by employing a bridge having a flat surface such that after an overmold is formed over the bridge, a face of the plug has a resulting flat, smooth appearance.

Abstract: A customizable bus system includes a system module containing one or more accessory modules and is easily mounted along a surface in a workspace, such as the underside of a cabinet. The accessory modules provide conveniently located utility services and applications such as power, lighting or media connections, and may be interchanged within the bus system to provide particular services and applications where they are needed most. Additionally, the bus system may include a control center for controlling the operation of one or more of the accessory modules, such as manually or automatically. The bus system may also include multiple housings that are functionally linked. Additionally, the housings may be integrated with the applications and take the form of a modular stick, which can be easily installed to provide a service or application in an area, or removed and replaced by a modular stick having another desired service or application.

Abstract: An improved electrical outlet providing a lockable electrical connection between a male plug and the outlet to securely retain the plug. The method to secure and retain the plug imparts minimal stress to the outlet and to the male plug so as to not substantially decrease the durability of either. The outlet decreases the shocking potential to a user or unwitting child by remaining un-energized when idle, and prohibits movement from its idle position until the outlet has received the plug terminal prongs. The shape of the movable receptacle assembly and its corresponding cavity blocks a child from contacting the outlets power source with a metallic object, while making the power source available to the receptacle assembly when initiated by the user. The outlets locking action steps secure and energize the plug simultaneously during the locking action steps in a user friendly manner.

The flat plug electrical connector has a housing for holding the electrical cable and prongs, and a cap for covering the internal structure of the housing. The housing has an integrated strain relief section for preventing damage to the flat plug electrical connector from abrupt pulling or pushing of the electrical cords. The cap and the housing have interlocking terminating ends which are configured for preventing the cap from separating from the housing when the plug is pulled from an electrical outlet. The electrical prongs of the hot and neutral electrical wires and the ground pin are locked in place by posts protruding from the cap which urges the prong mounting tab against a mounting surface in the housing.
