Abstract: A separable and reconnectable connector for semiconductor devices is provided that is scalable for devices having very small contact pitch. Connectors of the present disclosure include signal pins shielded by pins electrically-coupled to ground. Embodiments provide one or more signal pins in a contact array electrically-shielded by at least one ground pin coupled to a ground plane. Embodiments thereby provide signal pins, either single-ended or a differential pair, usable to transmit signals with reduced noise or cross-talk and thus improved signal integrity. Embodiments further provide inner ground planes coupled to connector ground pins to shield pairs of differential signal pins without increasing the size of the connector. Inner grounding layers can be formed within isolation substrates incorporated into connector embodiments between adjacent pairs of signal pins.

Abstract: An electrical receptacle connector includes a metallic shell, an insulated housing, first receptacle terminals, second receptacle terminals, a shielding plate, and a terminal organizer. The insulated housing is in the receptacle cavity of the metallic shell. The first receptacle terminals are assembled with the insulated housing. The second receptacle terminals are assembled with the terminal organizer. The insulated housing and the terminal organizer are assembled with each other. The shielding plate is between the first receptacle terminals and the second receptacle terminals. The terminal organizer extends the fixation portion attaching to the front portions of the second receptacle terminals, so that the front portions of the second receptacle terminals are securely held on the tongue portion. Therefore, when the terminal organizer is deformed due to heating, the front portions of the second receptacle terminals can be still fixed on the tongue portion without being deflected upwardly.

Abstract: A broadside coupled connector assembly has two sets of conductors, each separate planes. By providing the same path lengths, there is no skew between the conductors of the differential pair and the impedance of those conductors is identical. The conductor sets are formed by embedding the first set of conductors in an insulated housing having a top surface with channels. The second set of conductors is placed within the channels so that no air gaps form between the two sets of conductors. A second insulated housing is filled over the second set of conductors and into the channels to form a completed wafer. The ends of the conductors are received in a blade housing. Differential and ground pairs of blades have one end that extends through the bottom of the housing having a small footprint. An opposite end of the pairs of blades diverge to connect with the wafers.
