  • Patent number: 7425141
Abstract: An enclosure of an electronic apparatus includes an upper panel covering over the upper surface of an inner space of the enclosure. A connector is incorporated in the enclosure. The electronic apparatus allows the upper panel to define the peripheral edge retreating from the tip end of the connector. When the user of electronic apparatus looks down at the upper panel, the user can see the tip end of the connector. The user is in this manner allowed to locate the connector without looking into the side of the enclosure. The user can thus insert a plug or male connector into a connector or female connector with a higher reliability. A cover member may be used to cover over the tip end of the connector.

  • Patent number: 7264488
Abstract: An electrical assembly comprises an electrical connector, and an improved pickup cap that is provided with a surface area configuration that has the potential to impart a more even temperature distribution across the ball grid array during reflow. Some embodiments of the pickup cap, when connected to the electrical connector, cover the sides of the electrical connector, but do not cover the central portion of the electrical connector. Such a configuration of pickup cap surface areas has the potential to provide a more even temperature distribution across the grid of solder balls during reflow of the solder balls.

  • Patent number: 7264487
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly (1) includes an LGA connector (2) having a metal clip (25) and a pick up cap (3). The pick up cap has a planar body (30) forming a plane top surface (300). Several holes (302, 303, 309) are defined in the planar body. When the pick up cap is engagingly mounted onto a top portion of the connector, the holes are in communication with a window (258) of the clip. A vacuum suction device can engage the top surface of the pick up cap to move the connector assembly to a desired location on a PCB. When curing adhesive film at high temperature, heated air can flow through the holes to a bottom portion of the connector. Reliable electrical connection between the contacts of the connector and the metal contact pads of the PCB is subsequently produced in a wave solder machine or drag soldering equipment.
