  • Patent number: 11710923
Abstract: The present disclosure provides an electrical connector. The electrical connector includes an insulating body and one or more reinforcing members. The insulating body comprises a pair of side portions which extend in a longitudinal direction, and a pair of tower portions which are connected to respective ends of the pair of side portions. The pair of side portions and the pair of tower portions form a longitudinal card slot. The ends of the card slot extend into the pair of tower portions respectively. A reinforcing member may be arranged in a tower portion. When an electronic card is inserted into the card slot, the one or more reinforcing members can maintain the shape of the tower portions and prevent deformation or cracking of the tower portions when the electronic card is impacted by an external force.

  • Patent number: 11304327
Abstract: An enclosure for installation in a server rack has front panel access to multiple release mechanisms. The front panel access allows separate and safe dual tasking of both hot and cold swaps. A hot swap mechanism allows a sled to be ejected while retaining a connection to electrical power. A separate cold swap mechanism releases the sled and also disconnects the electrical connection. When the hot swap mechanism is engaged or enabled, one or more mechanical linkages operate to lock out access to the cold swap mechanism. When the cold swap mechanism is engaged or enabled, the mechanical linkages interferes or blocks manual operation of the hot swap mechanism. Both the hot swap mechanism and the cold swap mechanism thus cannot be inadvertently and/or simultaneously performed.

Each blade server is securable within the chassis and includes a scalability port, cam handle for selectively securing the blade server in the chassis, and handle latch for selectively latching the cam handle in a closed position, and lockout mechanism moveable into a position that blocks the handle latch in a latched position. The scalability device includes first and second scalability connectors, wherein positioning the scalability device so that the first scalability connector is coupled to a scalability port of the first blade server and the second scalability connector is coupled to a scalability port of the second blade server causes each lockout mechanism to move into the position that blocks the handle latches in the latched position. Accordingly, the scalability device must be removed before either of the blade servers can be removed.

Abstract: A retention-extraction device is provided for a removable card in a chassis. The device includes an actuation rod having a cam slot, the actuation rod configured to provide linear movement along the length of the actuation rod, and an extraction lever operatively connected to a proximal end of the actuation rod and pivotally secured to the chassis. The device also includes a bell crank with a cam follower that is configured to ride in the cam slot and a latch hook that pivots between an open and closed position based on the motion of the bell crank. The linear movement of the actuation rod causes the extraction lever to apply a force to a portion of the card and causes the latch hook to pivot to an open position to allow removal of the card.
