  • Patent number: 7510416
Abstract: A PIU plug-in/plug-off mechanism for an electronic apparatus, which is capable of efficiently applying a force required for a plugging-in/off operation of connectors to a printed board by pressing a portion of the printed board close to a backplane. An operating handle of a card lever is turned counterclockwise to thereby bring a push pin into abutment with a rear edge of an open recess. When the card lever is further turned in this state, a pressing force for moving a plug-in unit in the insertion direction acts on an engaging member via an arm. This starts fitting the printed board into a plug-in connector without causing warping of the printed board.

  • Publication number: 20090077293
Abstract: A connector for an electronic card includes an improved latching mechanism for facilitating the insertion and removal of the card. In one embodiment, a connector body is secured to a motherboard and has a socket for removably receiving a DIMM to a seated position. In the seated position, DIMM terminals are in electrical contact with socket terminals, placing the DIMM in electronic communication with the motherboard. A lever is pivotally coupled to an end of the connector body, and is pivotable into engagement with the DIMM to raise the DIMM. A linear actuator is movably secured on a track and is movable into engagement with the lever. A user ejects the DIMM by pressing downward on the linear actuator at a push point. In response, the linear actuator engages the lever to cause the lever to raise the DIMM from the seated position to a raised position, thereby separating electrical contact between the DIMM terminals and the socket terminals.

Abstract: A card insertion structure of an electronic device is provided, which includes an accommodating groove caved in the electronic device, a first cover covered on the accommodating groove, a card slot extending from a wall of the accommodating groove, and a second cover pivotally disposed on the electronic device. The card slot is used for inserting a card such as a subscriber identity module (SIM) card, and the first cover catches the second cover to be in a covered position. When the card is to be ejected, the second cover cannot be pivoted unless the first cover is removed first, and the second cover pushes the card to move outwards when being pivoted, thus achieving the purpose of ejecting the card. Furthermore, due to the catch of the first cover, the card cannot be ejected if the second cover is inappropriately pivoted, thereby avoiding damaging the card.
