Abstract: A connection terminal 39 includes a clip piece 73 and a fixed piece 71 facing each other in the vertical direction, the interval between a claw 74A and a claw 74B provided on the tips of the respective pieces is slightly smaller than the thickness of a flexible printed board 48. Therefore, when the flexible printed board 48 is inserted into a board insert port 68, the flexible printed board 48 is sandwiched and held by the claws 74A and 74B. The flexible printed board 48 is thus temporarily held in the state in which it is inserted in the connector. A projection 77 is projectedly provided on an end of an operation lever 46, and the flexible printed board 48 is provided with a cutout 79 into which the projection 77 is fitted. As a result, after the operation lever 46 is tilted horizontally to fit the projection 77 into the cutout 79, the flexible printed board 48 will not come out of the board insert port 68.

  • Patent number: 6533602
Abstract: The invention provides a divided connector wherein the engaging force of a lock is not weakened when a sub connector housing and a frame are separated by a jig. Locking members 13 are formed in a cantilevered shape. Free ends 13B thereof engage with engaging edges 14A of lock receiving members 14, thereby maintaining a sub connector housing 4 and a frame 5 in an unremovable state. A guiding groove 21 is formed, in an anterior-posterior direction, at the centre of each lock receiving member 14, and a portion of each free end 13B corresponding to the guiding groove 21 forms a jig contacting region 25. An engaging region 24 is formed to the left and right of each jig contacting region 25, these engaging regions 24 engaging with the engaging edges 14A. Since a lock releasing jig 26 makes contact with the jig contacting region 25, this lock releasing jig 26 does not damage the engaging regions 24.

Abstract: An electrical connector uses a single flex circuit having two banks of electrical conductors each engaged to a series of terminals disposed or engaged in first and second carriers. The carriers are stacked upon one another and then inserted into a shroud of the electrical connector from a lateral direction. A clip retainer is then inserted from the rear into the shroud of the electrical connector between the first and second carriers to assure the position of the individual terminals within the respective carriers. The single flex circuit is replaced by a plurality of individual electrically insulated conductors in a second embodiment.
