Abstract: A method assembling a cable connector system and an alignment insert are provided. The alignment insert includes a body having a first planar surface, a second planar surface, and a thickness extending therebetween. The body includes an outer peripheral surface sized complementarily to an inner surface of a first connector portion and further including one or more slots therethrough and extending from the outer peripheral surface inwardly a first predetermined distance. A first width of each of the one or more slots and the predetermined distance based on an orientation of a connector pin positioned within the first connector portion.
Abstract: A housing for a light socket is made of stamped metal. It has a tubular shell that surrounds the light socket. A cap covers the bottom of the tubular shell. A threaded ring engages the bottom of the tubular shell and holds the cap in place. The shell and cap are made of stamped metal.
Abstract: A terminal block for connecting intrinsically safe rated circuits and increased safety rated circuits. The terminal block includes a housing that forms an enclosed area. A first surface at a first end of the housing has openings through the surface. A first set of conductors for connecting intrinsically safe rated circuits has terminals in the enclosed area and extend through the openings. A second set of conductors for connecting increased safety rated circuits has terminals in the enclosed area and extend through the openings. A wall on the first surface separates said terminals of the first set of conductors from the terminals of the second set of conductors. Finally, a cover over the second set of conductors extends from a top side of the wall substantially to a side of the housing to enclose the second set of conductors inside the enclosed area to allow the housing to be opened.
Abstract: A lamp socket assembly of the type having an insulative husk. A cap is affixed to the top of the insulative husk and the cap has a groove that matches with a bump on the cover member so that the cap and the cover member do not turn with respect to one another. In this way a light bulb may be tightened without turning the husk within the cover member.
Abstract: A socket shell for a lamp socket includes a substantially cylindrical socket sleeve formed to cooperate with a socket cap of substantially dome-shaped configuration and having a circumferential lip that seats up against an upper edge of said socket sleeve. Lugs are formed on the outer circumference of said socket sleeve proximate a first end thereof to pass through slots formed in the inner wall of said circumferential lip and to cooperate with said lip to obtain a releasable securing means. A thrust washer is deployed against a shoulder proximate said circumferential lip to apply pressure to said first end of said socket sleeve when attached to said socket cap so as to solidly lock said sleeve and cap in an assembled condition. The cap and sleeve are each formed of brass with a wall thickness of approximately 5/64ths of an inch to thus provide a heavy-duty lamp socket shell and lamp socket.
