  • Patent number: 7011553
Abstract: In a connector to be connected to a cable having a core wire, a retainer is fitted into a rear portion of an insulator holding a contact. The core wire is crimped by a wire crimping barrel formed to the contact. The cable is clamped in cooperation with the retainer and the insulator and extracted through the rear portion of the insulator. In addition, the contact has a locking barrel. On the other hand, the retainer includes a locking portion which is engaged with the locking barrel to prevent the contact from being released rearward from the insulator.

Abstract: A retainer (30) including a pair of side plates (32) is mounted such that the retainer (30) crosses over a housing (10) along width direction and the side plates (32) bulge out along width direction from side surfaces of the housing (10). Protection walls (27, 28) are formed on the side surfaces of the housing (10) to project around movable ranges of the side plates (32) of the retainer (30). Thus, inadvertent movement of the retainer (30) due to the contact of an external matter with the side plates (32) can be prevented. Each of the plug-in contact parts is axially secured in its tube by a radial projection (41) in the direction toward the end facing the other tube. At its line end, each of the tubes is closed by an end cap (42), which sealingly surrounds with a narrow outlet (44) the electric lines, including an insulation (43). The tube, in which the plug-in contact part with the contact pins is axially secured, extends beyond the tip of the contact pins, and has there an enlarged diameter, with which it surrounds the other tube (inner tube 1,3) with a narrow cylindrical gap (sealing gap 20).

  • Patent number: 6872093
Abstract: A terminal fitting (10) has a main body (11) and stabilizer (17) for preventing upside-down insertion stands up from a surface of the main body (11). Elongated projections (50) extend from a surface of the main body (11) opposite the stabilizer (17). If the male terminal fitting (10) is inserted upside down, the elongated projections (50) contact a bottom wall (24B) at the entrance of a cavity (24) during the insertion to shift the male terminal fitting (10) transversely. Thus, the stabilizer (17) is caught deeply by a ceiling wall (24C) at the entrance. As a result, the male terminal fitting (10) is prevented from any further insertion.

Abstract: A connector includes a housing, a front holder, a provisionally-retaining member and a completely-retaining member. The housing includes terminal receiving chambers in which metal terminals are accommodated and a plurality of elastic retaining arm portions for respectively retaining the metal terminals. The front holder is attached to the housing in a completely-retaining position through a provisionally-retaining position. The front holder prevents elastic deformation of the elastic retaining arm portions in the completely-retaining position but allows elastic deformation of the elastic retaining arm portions in the provisionally-retaining position. The completely-retaining member retains the front holder to the housing in the completely-retaining position and includes an operation portion for releasing the retaining of the housing and the holder, which is exposed to the exterior.
