  • Patent number: 4701723
Abstract: This connection construction for an electronic component includes a circuit board, a circuit pattern on the circuit board, an external connection terminal mounted to the circuit board and connected to the circuit pattern, a ground electrode opposing the external connection terminal, and a mass of dielectric material interposed between the ground electrode and the external connection terminal. Thereby proper connection is obtained for the circuit board, without introducing any undesirable delay, or deterioration or degradation of output signal therefrom. Thus, a connection construction for an electronic component is obtained which is particularly suitable for handling high speed signals.

  • Patent number: 4698906
Abstract: This invention relates to a connector for coupling a printed circuit board to an outside circuit and includes means to clamp said connector to said circuit board to form a sturdy circuit element that can be tested for conductivity without requiring spot soldering in the clamped portions. The connector may be readily disconnected from the printed circuit board should the test fail and another printed circuit board readily substituted. The connector, with the printed circuit board clamped thereto, is maintained in clamped relation for further assembly with other assembly elements should the test be passed.

  • Patent number: 4695117
Abstract: An electrical jack module comprising a vertically stacked series of electrical jacks having respective housings provided with respective open-ended axial bores wherein an electrical jack plug may be inserted for interference engagement with a protruding portion of a moveable contact member biased resiliently into electrical engagement with a fixed contact member disposed in grooves in the longitudinal side surfaces of the housings. A pair of the fixed contact members comprise integral end portions of a pre-shaped shunt wire press-fitted into plurality of communicating grooves provided in aligned side surfaces of adjacent housings in the vertically stacked series. The moveable contact members are integrally connected through respective preshaped spring wires disposed in grooves in the sides surfaces of the housing to respective wire terminals protruding in a common array from a proximal supporting surface of the vertically stacked series of housings.

  • Patent number: 4671584
Abstract: An electrical power connector for conducting electrical power from a power bus bar to a circuit card. More particularly, the connector includes contact elements having tab terminal receiving receptacles positioned in a dielectric housing in a staggered arrangement so that the forces requires to insert tab terminals into the receptacles are distributed. Further, the terminal-receiving space in each receptacle is defined by a stationary member on one side and dual side-by-side spring-biased members on the other side so that the force required to insert a tab terminal therein is initially incremental.
