Abstract: An IC socket includes a socket body (10) defining a plurality of passageways (102), and terminals (20) insertable into each of the passageways. A retention projection (1020) extends into the passageway. Each terminal includes a slot at a middle portion thereof for receiving the retention projection. The slot defines a closed boundary line for restricting the retention projection such that movement of the terminal along a length axis of the passageway is limited within a predetermined distance, thereby preventing the terminal from being removed therefrom.

Abstract: A mounting plate assembly for a notification appliance. For example, a mounting plate is designed with at least one aperture for receiving a plurality of leads, e.g., from a backbox. In turn, these leads can be received by a plurality of contacts that are deployed on the mounting plate. In one embodiment, at least two of these contacts are in physical contact with each other at a juncture, thereby providing a connectivity between these two contacts. However, the physical contact at the juncture is non-resetable, i.e., if a force is applied to the juncture, then the connectivity is severed and the physical contact between the two contacts cannot be easily re-establish even if the force is removed.

  • Patent number: 7435105
Abstract: A connector for interconnecting electronic components within a device, such as an optical transceiver module, is disclosed. In one embodiment the connector utilizes compressive engagement to electrically connect an optical subassembly to a printed circuit board within the optical transceiver. In one embodiment, the electrical connector includes a body that mechanically mounts on the printed circuit board. The body defines a plurality of slots, each having a first portion of a conductive finger positioned therein. The first portion of each finger is arcuately shaped and extends from the slot. The connector is positioned such that each finger compressively engages and electrically connects with a corresponding contact pad on the optical subassembly when the optical transceiver is assembled. A second portion of each finger extends from a face of the connector body and electrically connects with corresponding contact pads on the printed circuit board, electrically connecting it with the optical subassembly.
