Operator Powered Drive For Propulsion Means Patents (Class 440/12.55)
  • Patent number: 12263707
Abstract: A human-powered wheelchair for use on land and in water that comprises flotation and propulsion means. The wheelchair can be propelled by the operator on land in a manner similar to a typical wheelchair. The wheelchair can be propelled in the water by propellers that are mechanically and rotationally coupled to the side wheels of the wheelchair.

  • Patent number: 7211983
Abstract: The invention concerns an off-road vehicle, in particular of the amphibious type, having a left wheel-train (6, 7, 8) and a right wheel-train, arranged to propel the vehicle on both land and water, propulsion resources (10) to drive the said wheel trains, and mobile control resources (15) capable of supplying at least one control signal as a function of their position. The said propulsion resources include a first electric motor capable of driving the left wheel-train, a second electric motor capable of driving the right wheel-train, and synchronisation resources (16) to synchronise the two electric motors as a function of the control signal.

  • Patent number: 6666735
Abstract: A vehicular drive apparatus comprises in combination, an off-road vehicle including an internal combustion engine drive system and a liquid propulsion jet drive system jointly functional in a single engine case of the off-road vehicle for enabling forward motion of the vehicle. The jet drive system provides a means for engaging and disengaging with the internal combustion engine drive system. An outrigger floatation device engages with the off-road vehicle and is adapted for adjustment between a stored attitude and a deployed attitude. When the vehicle enters deep water, the jet drive may be employed to propel the vehicle, and the floatation gear may be employed to maintain buoyancy.
