  • Patent number: 6656856
Abstract: The present invention relates to mattress or furniture insulator pads that are placed between the coil springs and the cushioning material in mattresses or furniture, such as chair seats. Such insulator pads prevent the springs from piercing the furniture cushion and provide a bridge across the springs to more evenly distribute weight over the springs. The insulator pads according to the invention have three layers formed by sandwiching polyurethane foam between stiffening layers, preferably formed from polypropylene openmesh netting. Most preferably, a five layer insulator pad has the polyurethane foam sandwiched between stiffening layers and also has outer layers of polyurethane foam, applied adjacent to the stiffening layers, forming the top and bottom surfaces of the pad. Such outer layer foam sheets provide friction characteristics that retard relative movement between the cushion and the springs.

Abstract: The invention is a flow guiding structure that is applied in a heat transfer apparatus which has no any driving power and it is a structure of subsystem to guide the flow direction of a fluid and it is also belonged to a passive and brought along system that can not be applied independently. The structure is comprised of at least one metal network and a working fluid. Through the symmetrical inlet and outlet for the flow paths of the fluid, the structure is connected and applied to the main system that is so-called a heat exchanging system, such as: any refrigeration, air-conditioning system, and looping heat pipe referred in the invention.

Abstract: A protective layer embodying the principles of the present invention is configured for protection of automotive surfaces, including specifically, the protection of a truck-bed against wear induced by a truck-bed liner. The protective layer has a substantially planar configuration sized to permit the layer to be positioned generally between an associated truck-bed liner and a truck-bed, whereby the abrasion is significantly reduced. The layer comprises a fibrous nonwoven fabric formed from fibrous and/or filamentary elements, with the fibrous nonwoven fabric exhibiting a sufficiently reduced coefficient of friction and sufficient durability to absorb or distribute abrasive actions, while allowing passage of moisture, thus protecting the automotive surfaces against potentially detrimental environmental conditions.

Abstract: A headliner (10) for use with a motor vehicle including a combination of a chopped fiber roving (22) bonded between a non-woven film layer and a urethane core (14) to eliminate warpage in the headliner (10) after the molding and forming process is complete. The combination of stiffness and mechanical bond provides this effect. The combination may also include a polypropylene non-woven material (18) combined with a polyethylene film (20) to form a laminate top (12) and bottom layer (16). The chopped fiber roving (22) is randomly disposed between the laminate (21) and a urethane matrix (44) used to form a core (14) of the headliner (10) to provide the shape stability to the headliner (1).

Abstract: This invention relates to protective packaging materials for use during shipping and/or storage of objects. The packaging material of the present invention, referred to as the protective packing material, comprises a flexible mesh structure and a means for absorbing shock integrated into the flexible mesh structure whereby the invention may be either wrapped around or stuffed in and around one or more objects such that the shock absorbing means absorbs a shock from a blow to the one or more objects thereby protecting the one or more objects from damage and the mesh structure contains the shock absorbing means and prevents the shock absorbing means from scattering.

Abstract: A net fabric to be processed into a net product capable of simplifying processing during manufacturing of a net product, leading to a reduction in manufacturing cost of the net product is disclosed. The net fabric is so constructed that the side edge portions of the net fabric, which are subjected to processing such as cutting, vibrational welding or the like, have a higher compressibility in the thickness direction than the middle portions of the net fabric. This ensures that the net fabric exhibits a better workability during the manufacturing of the net product using the net fabric in order to simplify the manufacturing process, and to lead to a reduction in manufacturing cost, even though the net fabric has a three-dimensional structure.
