  • Publication number: 20070275629
Abstract: A positioning device includes a fixing component including an arc slot with an end. A positioning plate is connected to the fixing component in a rotatable manner relative to the fixing component. The positioning plate includes a pillar positioned within the arc slot. The positioning device further includes a stopper positioned near on the end for stopping the pillar when the pillar slides near the end. A portion of the stopper protrudes over the arc slot to limit a rotational range of the positioning plate relative to the fixing component.

  • Patent number: 5628665
Abstract: The glove box has a rotatably supported bottom member (2, 11, 51) which is quipped with a number of product holders (14) positioned concentrically with the rotational axis of the bottom member. The product holders receive subassemblies or precursor products to be processed, partly within and partly without the glove box. Typical precursor products are discharge vessels for discharge lamps, of small size, for example having discharge vessel volumes in the tenths and hundredths of a cubic centimeter, which are to be flushed with a flushing gas, and then filled with an ionizable fill. Rotation of the bottom member delivers the products in the product holders to work-stations at which flushing, filling and other operations are carried out inside the glove box. Simultaneously, other operations such as pinching and sealing portions of the discharge vessels can be carried out outside of the glove box by suitable outwardly located operating stations (18).

  • Patent number: 5487689
Abstract: An automation system for assembling photocathodes into vacuum tube housings is used to produce vacuum tube assemblies. Photocathodes are loaded and otherwise processed in a first evacuated chamber. Similarly, vacuum tube housings are loaded and otherwise processed in a second evacuated chamber. The first and second chambers are always interconnected as a common vessel, wherein the photocathodes from the first chamber are transferred into the second chamber by an automated transfer mechanism. Once in the second chamber, the photocathodes are joined to the vacuum tube houses in an automation process, creating the final product vacuum tube assemblies.

  • Patent number: 4820228
Abstract: A picture tube sealing apparatus for thermally welding a stem structure and a neck portion of a glass bulb thereof to each other and thereby seal the same. A table, on which a plurality of burners formed correspondingly to the diameters of the neck portions of various types of glass bulbs are arranged unitarily so that the burners have a predetermined angle with respect to each other, is turned to move a burners corresponding to the diameter of an object glass bulb to a predetermined position to thereby carry out a burner-switching operation, whereby the heating power of the burner can be regulated without manual operation even when the neck portions of glass bulbs fed sequentially have a plurality of different diameters.

  • Patent number: 4666416
Abstract: The invention resides in apparatus for producing consecutive connections between the interiors (10) of glass lamp bulbs (12) and sources (14) of pressurized gas and/or vacuum (16, 17). The sequence of connecting is governed by the requirements of lamp bulb manufacturing. The pressure sources and/or vacuum sources are connected with channels (50, 52) in a stationary lower slide (38) of a slide system containing an upper slide (36) rotatable in engagement with the lower slide. Disposed in the upper slide are passageways (30, 32, 42, 43) to which the interiors of glass lamp bulbs are connected. Dependent on the position of rotation, the orifices of passageways (30, 32, 42, 43, 50, 52) in the upper and lower slides are aligned at least one of the two slides is provided with a face (60) engaging the other slide. The face is formed from a disc of a ceramic material which is highly resistant to wear and has a low coefficient of friction.

  • Patent number: 4647277
Abstract: A manufacturing apparatus includes an endless chain traveling along a prescribed path. A plurality of holding chucks for clamping a stem tube or bulb are fitted to the chain and moved along the path. A mount-making unit is arranged near the path and seal a pair of leads to the stem tube held by the chuck to make a mount. A sealing unit is arranged near the path. The unit takes up the mount from the chuck passed the mount-making unit and then seals the mount in the bulb held by the chuck. An evacuating unit is arranged near the path. The unit evacuates the bulb held by the chuck which is passed the sealing unit, introduces an inert gas into the bulb, and then seals the bulb.
