Abstract: A collapsible and self-erecting polyhedron system is provided. The system includes a collapsible and self-erecting box. The box comprises cardboard and includes outer surfaces upon which images (e.g., photographic reproductions), graphics, and text are printed to provide a three-dimensional greeting card. The three-dimensional greeting card (the box) is collapsed and placed into an envelope, and upon being removed from the envelope, automatically self-erects providing a fun and exciting experience. Confetti also is included within the box that is ejected during the box self-erecting, thereby providing even more enjoyment.

Abstract: A communication system and method are provided to assist a user in conveying and/or exchanging a communication. The present communication system and method provide a low tech platform that enables a user to utilize an icon exchange communication system and method while allowing the integration of core vocabulary instructional concepts and techniques. The present communication system and method allows for seamless presentation of core vocabulary while also providing access to fringe vocabulary words.

Abstract: An interactive book assembly has first and second page portions, and a plurality of uniquely-shaped workpieces. The first page portion removably retains the workpieces in a plurality of first receiving areas. The second page portion has a plurality of second receiving areas that have unique shapes that each match a respective one of the workpieces so as to receive and retain a mating. Each second receiving area has a switch area located to correspond to the position of an indicia area of the mating workpiece when the mating workpiece is positioned in the respective second receiving area. Membrane switches are positioned adjacent to a switch area of each second receiving area to align with the indicia area of the workpiece inserted into the matching second receiving area. When a reader presses the activation indicium on the workpiece, the workpiece will press against the switch area, causing activation of the associated membrane switch and generation of a sound relating to the workpiece.

Abstract: In one aspect of the present invention, a toy arrangement involving a flickering, animated and/or luminescent toy object will be described. The toy arrangement includes a toy object having an ultraviolet sensitive layer. A light source is arranged to illuminate the ultraviolet sensitive layer with ultraviolet light. The ultraviolet sensitive layer is arranged to emit colored light in response to exposure to the ultraviolet light. In some implementations, the light source is arranged to vary the intensity of the ultraviolet light, which in turn can cause the colored light emitted from the toy object to fade, brighten and flicker. The toy arrangement may also include a speaker that emits sounds that are synchronized with changes in the colored light.

Abstract: A flip book greeting card having an outside cover containing text and artwork and an inside panel containing a flip book. The flip book is made up of one piece of material that is folded accordion-style to create several smaller folds, each fold containing a series of still frame pictures or drawings, each successive fold containing the same picture or drawing with incremental movements. The flip book is connected to the greeting card in such away that when a user pulls the free edge of the flip book, the flip book is set in motion, creating the illusion of a picture in motion. The user may then push the free edge back to its original location, while the flip book is set in reverse motion, creating the illusion of rewinding the movement of the picture. The picture or drawing used in the flip book may be coordinated with the occasion, theme and/or décor of the greeting card.

The first object has straps that are attached on both ends to the first object. At least one end of the strap is reversibly attachable. A preferred embodiment is use of a puppet as the first object and a book cover as the second object so that an operator can use one to both support the book cover and operate the puppet.
