The bra includes an inelastic frame to minimize unnecessary compression of the wearer's torso or chest, and adjustment components of the independent bra layers are provided on the front of the bra for ease of use by the wearer.

Additionally, the upper chest portion comprises a two-layer construction comprising an inner layer and an outer layer.

Abstract: An L-shaped platform system for female breasts has a vertical leg and a horizontal leg for each breast, and a strap that holds the legs in place. The vertical leg rests against the torso under a human breast. The horizontal leg extends outward from the torso under the human breast supporting it against the pull of gravity. The strap may have two free ends that fit around the human body and attach together like a bra. Each vertical leg may be embedded within the strap so as to fix the position of each L-shaped platform on the strap. Alternatively, the vertical legs have slots that permit weaving the strap through the vertical leg and permitting adjustment of the position of the L-shaped platform. A spring hinge may be added to join the horizontal leg to the vertical leg so that the horizontal leg can pivot downward.

It is not just rotational motion, but also lifting the breasts upward and toward the center of the chest. The brassiere has floating cups that apply rotational pressure to move the breasts closer together if rotated in one direction, and will move the breasts apart if rotated in the other direction. The cup positioning mechanism can be implemented by an adjustable clip, by integral hook and loop strips, buttons, ornamental clasps, straps, string ties, or other suitable devices.

The lift platforms are attached to the garment toward the center of the garment. Connectors having one end attached to the lift platform and the other end attached to a slide on the shoulder strap adjust the lift of the lift platform when the slide is moved. Flexible shaping members distribute the lift of the lift platforms and maintain the natural shape of the breasts as they are lifted. Smoothing shields ease the movement of the lift platforms and connectors within the cloth confines of the breast cups. The flexible shaping members may also perform some of the functions of a smoothing shield.

The support garment includes a breast support and isolating structure and an outer restraint bandeau that overlies the breast support and isolating structure. In a preferred embodiment, the support garment also includes an upper restraint band that extends horizontally over the wearer's breasts. The wearer's breasts are supported from underneath in a raised position, as well restrained from above. In this manner, the support garment of the present invention isolates the wearer's breasts so as to reduce irritation from chafing and sweating.

Abstract: A breast support apparatus for use in supporting and positioning surgically augmented breasts and methods of use have been developed. The breast support apparatus is worn around the circumference of the torso under augmented breasts of a user to give support to and properly position the augmented breasts in such a way so as to make the augmented breasts appear more natural, while maintaining the appearance that no bra support is being worn.

The brassiere may be turned inside-out to reverse orientation of the cups.

Abstract: A brassiere having a breast supporting portion with a moisture managing shield. The moisture managing shield faces towards the skin of a wearer is attached to one side surface on the lower portion of the brassiere by a first adhesive layer. A depending lower portion of the shield is attached to the second or outside surface of the lower portion of the brassiere by a second adhesive layer by folding the shield along a lower edge. Each of the adhesive layers are initially covered by peel off strips until it is desired to expose their adhesive backings for mounting to the brassiere. Normally, the lower inside portion of the brassiere below the breast retaining cups is completely covered by the shield. The in-place shield may be removed from the brassiere by pulling on the shield allowing for its disposal and replacement by another shield when needed.

The brassiere underliner fits under the breasts of the brassiere user and has greater thickness and rises higher in between the breasts to capture a greater amount of perspiration between the breasts. The underliner has curvatures that are contoured to fit the curves of the undersides of the breasts. A tacky adhesive retains the underliner in position on the brassiere. The underliner can be disposable, thereby allowing quick replacement as necessary and avoiding potential embarrassment. Further, the use of the underliner limits soiling of the brassiere, hence extending the life of the expensive garment.

The pair of soft cups are supported from below by adjustable, soft, inelastic supports, which may be fabric, that allow each cup to be adjusted individually.
