Abstract: A supportive undergarment configured to restrain movement of breast tissue in the superior direction is provided. The undergarment is configured to be used in conjunction with a conventional bra, especially an underwire-containing sports bra, without unnecessarily duplicating the support provided by the bra. The undergarment comprises a pair of supporting straps that are releasably anchored to the undergarment's lower circumscribing band via at least one anchor member. The supporting straps are configured to provide compression to the wearer's upper breast roots and arrest upward movement of the wearer's breasts.

Abstract: A brassiere includes a front piece including a first cup, a second cup, a first shoulder strap, and a second shoulder strap. The first shoulder strap has a first end connected to a top of the first cup and a second end connected to a bottom of the first cup or a bottom of the second cup. The second shoulder strap has a first end connected to a top of the second cup and a second end connected to the bottom of the second cup or the bottom of the first cup. The brassiere does not include a wing that extends from the first piece and wraps around the thoracic region of the wearer. The first shoulder strap and the second shoulder strap provide a downward tension and an upward force on the first cup and the second cup to secure breasts of a wearer in the first cup and the second cup.

Abstract: An adjustable support brassiere comprises traditional bra elements—a bra band with closure; left and right breast cups; and respective shoulder straps. Adjustability may comprise left and right inner support cups having inner ends pivotally attached, respectively, to the left and right breast cups, and a respective support strap having a bottom end attached at a distal (outer) end of each inner support cup, with a top end of each support strap fixedly secured to a hook member. Each of the left and right hook members may be releasably secured to two or more different portions of the shoulder strap, to cause individual lifting and reconfiguring of the left and right inner support cups to produce a desired amount of lifting to each of the woman's breasts. Adjustments may be made by a woman throughout the day to alter her appearance as desired.

Abstract: A bra assistive device is provided. The present invention allows disabled individuals who lack the use of one of their arms to put a bra on in a convenient and efficient manner. The present invention consists of a base that is designed to be secured between an individual's knees or thighs, a shaft extending from the base, a first connector integrally affixed to the shaft, a second connector removably positioned on the shaft, and an adjustable strap having a first end and a second end connected to the second connector. The present invention allows individuals who only have a single operative arm to clasp the opposing ends of a bra strap together, which generally requires two operative arms, and thereby put a bra on.

Abstract: An adjustable support brassiere comprises traditional bra elements—a bra band with closure; breast cups; and respective shoulder straps. Adjustability may comprise inner support cups having opposite ends being selectively attached on each breast cup, and a respective support strap being secured to each inner support cup, with a distal end of the support strap secured to an adjustment clip, which may releasably secure a portion of the shoulder strap. Adjustably securing different portions of the shoulder strap causes lifting and reconfiguring of the inner support cup to produce a desired amount of substantially vertical lifting to the woman's breast(s) in one embodiment, which is generally healthier for breast tissue than the typical inward displacement. Adjustments may be made by a woman throughout the day to alter her appearance as desired. Alternative embodiments permit lifting as well as inward/outward displacement, and may therefore serve as a minimizer.

Abstract: A breast support garment is configured with adjustable straps, cups, and/or other components in order to facilitate modification of the appearance of the bust. Modifying the length of certain straps causes the cups to move upwards/downwards and/or inwards/outwards with respect to the center of the breast support garment. Shoulder straps or other portions of the breast support garment may pass through guide loops and/or couple to the breast cups or garment shell to permit adjustment. The location of each breast cup may be independently adjusted.

The closure elements are arranged in each case on a preferably textile base strip, which is rectangular in basic form, acts as a carrier and serves for fastening the respective closure parts on their associated band wing ends, which overlap in their end regions in the closed configuration.

Abstract: An adjustable support brassiere comprises the traditional bra elements of a bra band with closure; breast cups secured thereto; and respective shoulder straps. Adjustability may comprise mini support cups pivotally attached at a selective location on each breast cup. A respective support strap may be secured to a portion of each mini support cup, with a distal end adjustably securable to the shoulder strap to be moveable between at least first and second positions to cause pivoting of the mini support cup to produce directional support according to a desirable lifting vector. Adjustment of the support strap may produce a lifting vector to provide directional support comprising substantially vertical support and outward separating support to enhance the women's figure, which is healthier for breast tissue than the typical inward displacement of the woman's breasts. A second embodiment may utilize a translating mini support cup and a gathered elastic member.

Abstract: The invention relates to a variable tension chest support for use by patients having undergone thoracic surgery. The chest support may be worn directly on the skin of a patient and comprises a band of stretchable material and one or more grips which are wholly or partially concealed within pockets with which the patient may alter the tension of the chest encircling band. The device allows a patient to modify the level of tension applied to the chest, thus managing the recovery process, while providing a basic level of support at all times the support is in use.

The brassiere has a first helical region and a second helical region joined at the front and the back of the brassiere, each of the first and the second helical regions including an inner cup and an outer cup. The surface area of each inner cup is substantially smaller than the surface area of its respective outer cup. At least one of the inner cups may include a breast-shape conformer to conform in appearance to a breast. A reinforcing element attached along the lower portions of each of the inner cups and the outer cups define an adjustable inner cup volume independent of the inner cup base diameter. In use, the inner cup is held against a wearer when the brassiere is in an adjusted position regardless of a movement of its respective outer cup to maintain breast coverage by its respective inner cup.

The sling or wrap of material is elasticated or “stretchable” and non-slip, for example, being of cotton/polyester. The sling or wrap of material has been shaped as shown with the ends being narrowed to the width of elasticated, connecting strap, the ends being joined to the strap and to one another, for example, by appropriate stitching. The ends of the strap are passed through an opening in metal connecting buckle of the connecting strap. The connecting strap may be used to connect or hook the breast apparatus to an appropriate location on an outer garment.

A stiff bar extending transversely of the centerline is fixed to the second patch and concave toward a wearer of a brassiere having the wings. Abstract: A lifting and shaping system for a bra or other garment uses lift platforms shaped to fit into the cups of the bra and formed from thin material. The lift platforms are attached to the garment toward the center of the garment. Connectors having one end attached to the lift platform and the other end attached to a slide on the shoulder strap adjust the lift of the lift platform when the slide is moved. Flexible shaping members distribute the lift of the lift platforms and maintain the natural shape of the breasts as they are lifted. Smoothing shields ease the movement of the lift platforms and connectors within the cloth confines of the breast cups. The flexible shaping members may also perform some of the functions of a smoothing shield.

Abstract: A support garment is disclosed that provides improved support and restraint for a wearer's breasts. The support garment includes a breast support and isolating structure and an outer restraint bandeau that overlies the breast support and isolating structure. In a preferred embodiment, the support garment also includes an upper restraint band that extends horizontally over the wearer's breasts. The wearer's breasts are supported from underneath in a raised position, as well restrained from above. In this manner, the support garment of the present invention isolates the wearer's breasts so as to reduce irritation from chafing and sweating.

Abstract: The present Invention provides a breast support apparatus. The apparatus further comprises at least one layered front portion constructed to form two breast cups. Each breast cup is configured and dimensioned to hold a female breast. Attached to each breast cup is a support member made of a strong flexible rigid material that is configured and dimensioned to accommodate at least the lower section of each breast cup. The back portion includes an inner layer made of a foam material that molds to the shape of the body during movement. At least one cooperating fastening members is attached to the internal peripheral edge proximately near the mid-section of each breast cup such that when the cooperating fastening members are secured the support member uplifts each breast.

Abstract: A lifting and shaping system for a bra is disclosed. The system uses lift platforms shaped to fit into the cups of the bra and formed from thin material such as plastic. The lift platforms are attached to the bra toward the center of the bra. Connectors having one end attached to the lift platform and the other end attached to a slide on the shoulder strap adjust the lift of the lift platform when the slide is moved. Flexible shaping members distribute the lift of the lift platforms and maintain the natural shape of the breasts as they are lifted. Smoothing shields ease the movement of the lift platforms and connectors within the cloth confines of the breast cups. The flexible shaping members may also perform some of the functions of a smoothing shield.

Respective latch elements are each shiftable on the body relative to the respective passages between a freeing position generally clear of the respective passage and allowing the respective pearl cord to slide therein and a latching position engaging at least one pearl of the respective cord and preventing the respective pearl cord from sliding therein in at least one direction. Respective springs urge the latch elements into the respective latching positions.

Therefore, once the two sliding end portions of the elongated straps are pulled opposedly, the two locker members are capable of defining a distance between the two brassiere cups, and when the affixing end portions of the elongated straps are pulled opposedly, two locker members are capable of locking up the distance.

Abstract: The postpartum bra described utilizes a conically formed ice replacement pack laminated between an outer and an inner insulating layer of fabric as each of a pair of thermal bra cups. The bra cups are connected to a horizontal back strap by a pair of shoulder straps. The back strap and a connecting panel between the bra cups are elastic. A pair of adjustable connectors between the back strap and the bra cups allow the bra to be tightened selectively and successively as desired.

Abstract: A modular brassiere fitment apparatus may be provided for use in the determination of the brassiere size of a woman. The modular brassiere fitment apparatus has the same general appearance as an ordinary brassiere except that it is based on a modular system. The first module comprises a pair of breast cups, a connecting front panel, and two side panels. The second module comprises a back panel. A third module may comprise a pair of shoulder straps. At least two first modules and at least two second modules make up a modular brassiere sizing kit where each of the first modules has a different size and each of the second modules has a different size, one from the other. When one of the first modules is assembled to one of the second modules from the modular brassiere sizing kit, the combination of the first and second modules constitutes a modular brassiere fitment apparatus.

Abstract: A surgical chest dressing is constructed of a band of stretchable material having a pair of panels of non-stretchable material attached thereto, the non-stretchable panels biasing the side and breast tissue of a patient inwardly toward a sutured incision in the center of a patient's chest to support and substantially immobilize the patient's side and breast tissue and to minimize stress on the sutured incision.

Abstract: A bandage for use to apply pressure to the wound area of a patient who has undergone a mastectomy includes a main body panel formed from a fabric that is non-elastic and breathable. The bandage is secured adjacent the side of the body of the patient to avoid the formation of a seam adjacent the wound area, yet allow application and removal of the bandage by the patient without assistance and with minimal pain and discomfort. An elastic member enables adjustment of the bandage for proper fit around the torso of the patient and ensures the application of adequate pressure. The bandage is configured so that the material that contacts the person's skin is non-elastic and breathable for increased comfort.

Abstract: A surgical dressing is constructed of a chest encircling flexible band formed primarily of a stretchable material with free overlapping ends that engage each other between the breasts of a person about which the dressing has been wrapped. The band includes differential support structure to provide more support for the sides of the user as compared with the remainder of the person about which the band has been wrapped.
