Abstract: The present invention relates generally to brassieres, particularly to brassieres for fuller figured and plus size women, and more particularly to brassieres for fuller figured and plus size women to wear during sporting activities. According to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a brassiere comprising a cradle, two straps and two cups each for receiving a breast, each of the cups having an around cup edge section, an underarm edge section, a neckline edge section, a center edge section and an apex, wherein the brassiere further comprises a Y-shaped control panel generally extending from the straps across the top of the neckline edge section of each of the cups and down the center edge section of each of the cups to the cradle.
Abstract: A brassiere includes two cups for the breasts, a contact strip positioned under the cups that encircles an area below the bust, two shoulder straps connected to, and extending upwardly from, the cups, and connected to a rear panel, a middle panel positioned between the two cups, and side panels extending from the cups to the rear panel. Inner layers of the cups having a vertical elasticity of at least 60% with respect to a total vertical height of the cups, and at least 15% of the total area of the inner layers configured to contact the skin. The middle panel has a horizontal elasticity of at least 20%. The adherence capacity of the inner layers of the cups can be increased by a silicone material that has a high friction coefficient.
Abstract: Wings attached to form the back panels of a brassiere are provided with the male and female fastener elements in the form of patches by ultrasonic welding of the patches to the diecut fabric wings. The male and female fastener elements are preferably of the snap type hook and eye plastic fastener elements which can be injection molded or ultrasonically bonded to the patches.
Abstract: The present invention is drawn to a hook and eye closure for garments such as brassieres. The eye tape and/or the hook tape is formed of laminated elastically elongatable layers, and can incorporate a cushioning layer to provide a comfortable and self-adjusting fit to garments. The lamination of the elastically elongatable layers allows manufacturing on existing equipment and helps provide smooth, soft edges, particularly when ultrasonically cut.
Abstract: A breast wrap (10) has two rectangular non-stretching panels (11, 12) of cotton flannel material joined over a user's back by short elastic strips (16, 17), and joined in overlapping relationship across the breasts by upper and lower complementary hook-and-loop fasteners (28, 29, 30, 31) running marginally along upper and lower longitudinal edges (24, 25, 26, 27). The panels run lengthwise in opposite directions from the user's back, under one arm, across both breasts, and terminate at a point located under the other arm; the panels run widthwise from above the breasts to below the breasts; and the fasteners are located so they will not be pressed into the breasts. Two rectangular open-ended pouches (40, 41) having pockets (40) for crushed ice, are held between the overlapping panels by additional hook-and-loop fasteners (47, 48) that mate with fasteners (28, 29, 30, 31).
