Wall Surfacing Machine Patents (Class 451/354)
  • Patent number: 5536199
Abstract: A traveling device having a frame means, and a moving means mounted on the frame means and moving on a travel surface, the moving means comprising a plurality of wheels, or a plurality of endless tracks each including a plurality of belt pulleys is disclosed. The frame means includes a main frame, a pair of oscillating frames arranged on both sides of the main frame, and a connecting frame disposed on one end portion side of the main frame. A central portion of the connecting frame is coupled to the main frame via a monoaxially oscillating joint means, both end portions of the connecting frame are coupled to one end portion of each of the oscillating frames via an omniaxially oscillating joint means, and the other end portion of each of the oscillating frames is coupled to both side portions of the other end portion of the main frame via a biaxially oscillating joint means.

  • Patent number: 5498197
Abstract: A hand-held blast cleaning machine having a motor which serves as a handle. The machine includes a blast assembly for propelling abrasive material against a surface and a hopper for supplying abrasive material to the blast assembly. The blast assembly has a blast corridor, a rebound corridor, a blast opening, a blast wheel and a motor. The motor drives the rotation of the blast wheel and serves as a handle. The hopper has a return corridor, a collection area, a feed area and a vacuum conduit. The vacuum conduit is connected to a vacuum source to collect dust and debris from the blast cleaning operation. In one embodiment, an side-blast hopper, a down-blast hopper, an up-blast hopper and a side-feed hopper are all interchangeably attachable to the same blast assembly. A shut-off handle is attached to the blast assembly to provide automatic shut-off abrasive material to the blast wheel and to function as a second handle. In another embodiment, the motor serves as the only handle.

  • Patent number: 5428865
Abstract: Sanding apparatus in which dust raised by sanding is drawn by reduced pressure through a porous sanding sheet and directly through apertures into a plenum chamber and from there through an air passage into an air space in a closed container partially filled with water. The air and dust are separated in the container by projecting the dust into the water from a small distance above it and, simultaneously, drawing the substantially dust-free air out of the air space by the reduced pressure so that the air does not need to enter the water.

  • Patent number: 5419737
Abstract: A palm grip random orbital sanding machine having a housing and an electric motor disposed in the housing which drives an attached platen along a random orbital path. An exhaust fan disposed in an exhaust chamber produces an air flow from the vicinity of the platen out through an exhaust port. The housing has a pair of longitudinal slots provided on opposite sides thereof which removably receive the legs or side members of a U-shaped debris container. Each side member of the debris container has an entrance port coincident with the exhaust port of the exhaust chamber, and means for filtering the debris from the air flow exiting the side members. The commutator and brushes of the electric motor are disposed intermediate the longitudinal slots and the brushes are disposed parallel to the longitudinal axis of the sanding machine.

  • Patent number: 5419087
Abstract: A flexible polyurethane foam cylindrically shaped sanding device (1) manufactured from formulas of abrasive material, can be permanently surfaced with an abrasive material or layer and can be used in conjunction witch abrasive sheets. The tube sheet (4) can be manufactured from wet or dry type abrasive sheets, perforated to allow for water penetration for wet sanding. The tube sheet is assembled into tube form by connection of the opposite edges of same abrasive sheet by fastening same sheet edge to edge by the adhesive tape (31) on back side of sheet,The sanding device is mountable to a pole by the mounting rod (81 ) which is run through mounting apparatus fork, through the sanding device center sleeve (21 ) and into the opposite threaded hole or inserted nut (82) or disc nut (89).The mounting apparatus (84) is fastened to external pole (86) by screwing same pole into fitting on mounting apparatus.
