  • Patent number: 7578730
Abstract: The present invention discloses a grinding brush fixing device applying to a pneumatic tool for surface treatment. The spacing between the fixing arms and arc plates of the brush holder is reduced. Thereby, the press-fit face of the axially-extending fixing arm can press the brush collar onto the first press-fit edge and second press-fit edge, which are at two sides of the notches between two axially-extending arc plates. Further, a flexible gasket is radially placed in a space between the fixing arms and the arc plates. When the fixing disc is fastened to the brush holder, the flexible gasket and the brush collar are tightly compressed and firmly secured. Thus, force can be uniformly applied onto the brush collar and the bristles. The present invention can promote the stability of brush's rotation, generate straighter ground strips, prolong the durability of the grinding brush and grinding brush fixing device, and promote the grinding efficiency.

  • Patent number: 7147550
Abstract: A holding apparatus for grinding members includes two clamping disks that have respectively a plurality of anchor plates and a plurality of anchor slots on different perimeters. The anchor plates and anchor slots may be wedged to form a mechanical interference between the two clamping disks to hold a grinding member securely. The apparatus thus constructed can enhance the structural strength of the grinding member and prevent the grinding member from deforming at high speed rotation.

  • Publication number: 20040127151
Abstract: An abrasive substrate is removably provided between a head portion and an abrasive member in a carry type abrasive machine. The abrasive substrate is constituted by a single synthetic resin molded member formed of the same material, and a hardness in a peripheral portion is set to be lower than that in a central portion excluding the peripheral edge portion. A difference in the hardness between the central portion and the peripheral portion is regulated by a concavo-convex surface formed on a surface at the fixing side to the head portion of the carry type abrasive machine. It is desirable that the concavo-convex surface should be constituted by a plurality of rib-shaped projections formed on the same plane. The abrasive substrate of the carry type abrasive machine can be manufactured inexpensively and can carry out a reliable and stable abrasion work.

  • Patent number: 6719620
Abstract: A sanding tool having a plate with opposite sanding and supporting sides, a handle mounted onto the supporting side of the plate, and at least one fastening device operatively connected to the supporting side of the plate for fastening a sandpaper onto the sanding tool in such a manner that most of the sandpaper rests against the sanding side of the plate. Each fastening device has a clamping device and a guiding device. The clamping device is movable with respect to the supporting side of the plate between a first position where the clamping device is away from the supporting side and a second position where the clamping device rests operatively against the supporting side. The guiding device is used for guiding movement of the clamping device along a predetermined path between the first and second positions. In operation, a portion of the sandpaper is removably clamped between the supporting side of the plate and the clamping device when the latter is in the second position.

  • Patent number: 5383308
Abstract: A hand sanding block is formed with two blocks, which may be of equal or unequal lengths of like cross section and disposed in coplanar relationship with opposed inner ends. The blocks are freely movable towards and away from each other almost to the point of separation, by means of a pair of spaced dowel pins projecting from one block for telescopic engagement in corresponding spring loaded sockets in the other block and are normally held apart in spaced relationship by the springs in the sockets. For mounting and removing an endless sanding belt the blocks are pressed together so the inner ends are in abutting relationship and once the belt is in place, the holding pressure is released so the blocks can move apart to provide tension on the belt.

  • Patent number: 5359818
Abstract: A hand tool for the use in sanding, polishing or finishing of articles of manufacture including wood, plastic and metal articles. A length of abrasive material, such as sandpaper or emery cloth, is secured to the tool with a portion of the length of abrasive material retained in a storage area. The abrasive material is secured to an extended blade which may be sized and shaped as required. The blade may include ridges or nodules to retain the abrasive material in position on the blade while the tool is being used. A securing member slides over the blade and the abrasive material to frictionally secure the abrasive material to the tool. As required, new abrasive material may be pulled from the storage portion and secured to the blade.
