  • Patent number: 8109262
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus and a method for aging a stone, preferably an artificial stone. The aging device comprises a rotary support operatively connected to a rotary shaft, at least one abrasive tool mounted to the rotary support for roughing and/or polishing a surface of the artificial stone when the rotary support is brought into functional contact with said surface, and biasing means that biasingly connect the abrasive tool to the rotary support. The biasing means urge the abrasive tool away from the rotary support while allowing the same to move toward the rotary support when the rotary support is brought into functional contact with the surface of the artificial stone, thereby allowing the abrasive tool to follow a surface profile of the artificial stone while roughing and/or polishing its surface.

  • Publication number: 20080214098
Abstract: Portable sander, in particular an orbital sander, having an abrasive sheet carrier (1) and having clamping means (3) for firmly clamping opposite abrasive sheet ends of an abrasive sheet (21) which can be supported on the abrasive sheet carrier (1), wherein first clamping means (3) together with an abrasive sheet end clamped thereon can be moved away from the other abrasive sheet end, clamped by means of second clamping means (3), for tensioning the abrasive sheet (21), and the first clamping means (3) have spring elasticity. Provision is made for the first clamping means (3) to come against a rigid stop element (9) with prestress in an end clamping position.

  • Patent number: 7192338
Abstract: A tool for co-operating with a fixing device wherein the tool comprises a tool body in the form of a circular disk, with a central opening and a radially inwardly facing locking surface. The fixing device comprises at least one radially outwardly facing projection of a locking element, which can be actuated manually and with which the fixing device can be releasably connected to the tool. In the locking position the at least one radially outwardly facing projection of the fixing device engages over the inwardly facing locking surface of the tool. The tool body is axially secured and held non-rotatably relative to the fixing device. The at least one radially outwardly facing projection of the fixing device and a support for the tool are arranged axially displaceably relative to each other, wherein the axial displacement travel is blockable by a centrifugal force device.

  • Patent number: 7131899
Abstract: A manual grinding tool, in particular an oscillating sander (10), with a housing (12) and an abrasive sheet carrier (14), against the working surface (15) of which an installable abrasive sheet (16; 150) rests, whereby said abrasive sheet is installed using clamping means (20, 23; 360, 500) which clamp opposite abrasive sheet ends (17, 19; 155) to the abrasive sheet carrier (14), is made easier to operate and handle because it is lighterweight and more effective by the fact that the clamping means (20, 23; 350, 500), together with an abrasive sheet end (17; 155) clamped thereto, are capable of being moved away from the diametrically opposed abrasive sheet end (19; 155) which is also clamped thereto, so that said abrasive sheet is locked under tensile stress, whereby the clamping means are composed of resilient material.

  • Patent number: 6183355
Abstract: An adapter apparatus for use with a power operated surface preparation device comprising an upper cap positioned on a first end of a stainless steel spring and a lower cap positioned on a second end of the spring. The center of the upper cap has a threaded opening and the center of the lower cap has a threaded opening wherein a shaft of the power tool is fastened to the upper cap and a shaft of a disk is fastened to the center of the lower cap. The power device rotates at speeds up to 10,000 RPMs and the disk on the lower end adapter of the apparatus maintains close contact with a work surface while an operator exerts minimum force only to guide the power device from area to area and not to maintain the disk touching the work surface.
