Patent number: 11858317Abstract: A vehicle window vent is shaped and sized to fit in the opening left when the vehicle window is lowered or retracted. The vent fits in the opening, and its edges are captured by channels that hold the window when the window is closed. Along one edge, the vent comprises a channel, similar to the window-opening channel, so that the vent can accept an edge of the window. Thus, when the window is opened and then partially closed on the vent, the window and vent together are held securely in the window opening. The vent comprises louvered openings to allow air in and out of the vehicle. The openings may be covered with screen or mesh to prevent insects from entering the vehicle. Other features may be provided as well. An efficient method for manufacturing the vents is also described and claimed.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2021Date of Patent: January 2, 2024Assignee: TERRAWAGEN, LLCInventor: Eric A. Didier

Patent number: 7762876Abstract: The cabin exhaust device ventilates vehicles provided with retractable windows and mounts on a portion of the vehicle, preferably on a door frame or in an opening between a window panel and a window frame. The cabin exhaust device comprises a squeegee and a ventilation panel having an air dam, a first portion, and a second portion, wherein the first and second portions are provided with angularly oriented apertures, thereby creating a vacuum on the vehicle's interior side. The first and second portions are outwardly convexed, thereby facilitating the creation of a pressure differential between the vehicle's interior and its exterior, thus forcing the air and other contaminants out from the vehicle's interior.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 2009Date of Patent: July 27, 2010Inventor: Bradley Kyle McClary

Patent number: 6042473Abstract: The invention relates to a safety ventilating panel for use in vehicles provided with retractable windows mounted in a window frame. The safety panel is mounted on top of a window panel, and a sealing gasket attached to the bottom edge of the safety panel receives a top edge of a slightly retracted window. The safety panel is provided with a plurality of angularly oriented openings to allow creation of vacuum on the interior side of the vehicle. An outwardly convex panel body facilitates creation of a pressure differential for a more effective airflow from the interior of the vehicle. A safety flange secured on the interior side of the safety panel extends upwardly and inwardly in relation to the safety panel body to prevent intrusion into the vehicle by unauthorized persons.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 1998Date of Patent: March 28, 2000Inventor: Bradley K.
