Connected to the flange is an air filtering material which collects the dust and pollen at the air register, before the air enters the room. In one embodiment of the invention, an electro-static charge is used by the filtering material to assist in the collection of the dust and pollen. To assist the user in determining when the filter system should be replaced, the air flow pushes a flag; hence as the air flow decreases as the filter becomes clogged, the location of the flag notifies the user that the air filter system should be replaced. While a hook-and-loop fastener is sometimes used to secure the filter to the air register, the preferred embodiment uses a releasable adhesive.

    Abstract: A ventilation nozzle for the interior of a motor vehicle, having a nozzle housing and a set of pivotable fins which extend parallel to one another over the housing opening. For the purpose of obtaining an aesthetic appearance when the ventilation nozzle is installed in curved wall surfaces, the fins and those housing walls of the nozzle housing which are parallel to the fins each have a front edge extending in a curved manner, matching the curvature of the wall surface, and each fin is divided in the longitudinal direction into a front part, which bears the curved front edge, and into a rear part which continues immediately from the front part. The front parts are fastened rigidly in the nozzle housing, whereas the rear parts are held pivotably on the front parts and are coupled to one another for the purpose of a joint pivoting movement.

    Abstract: The direction of air flow in an air blower is controlled by a plurality of rotationally adjustable blades (vanes) extending across an air flow passage. A motor is connected to the blades for rotating the blades between passage-opening and passage-closing positions and intermediate positions therebetween. A sensor senses the angular position of the blades and supplies a signal to a controller which compares that signal to a signal representative of a selected angular position of the blades. If the blades become-displaced by a force independent of the motor, the sensor signals the controller of such displacement, whereupon the motor is actuated to return the blades to the selected position.

    Abstract: An air vent includes a louver blade mounted in a housing for rotation about an axis. A motor output shaft is connected to a driving link to rotate the driving link about the axis. A driven link in the form of a crank arm extends from the driving link to the louver blade. A spring in the form of a torsional coil spring interconnects the driving link and the driven link for transmitting rotation therebetween to adjust the louver blade. When an undesired external force is applied to the louver blade, the spring can yield elastically to prevent relative movement between the driving link and driven link in order to protect the motor.

It is possible to prevent any occurrence of condensation and air-flow pulsating noise without needing any complex control such as load response control and yet without requiring any complicate construction in the flap.

    Abstract: Starting with an outlet nozzle having directional louvers which are mutually slaved by a coupler in the region of their air-intaking back edge and are respectively able to swivel around a swivel axis which runs parallel to the front edge on the outlet side, a further increase of comfort can be achieved by means of an additional diffused setting of the directional louvers with simple means of small construction, whereby the directional louvers are guided in the region of their back edges by those types of crank guideways for the directional louvers in a horizontally and vertically guided crank carriage. The directional louvers are guided in a first setting of the crank carriage into a parallel directed airstream setting with the ability to swivel parallel to each other. During a horizontal movement of the crank carriage, the louvers are correspondingly guided into the respective diffused-flow setting by their respective crank guideways.
