  • Patent number: 10852015
Abstract: A controlled dilution fluid flow pattern is described. In an embodiment, a fluid supply device is configured for controlling a pattern of a flow of a fluid within a critical room. The critical room comprises a critical area subject to contamination. A first fluid supply nozzle is configured to provide a first fluid supply jet to provide a first flow of the fluid towards a substantial center of the critical area. A second fluid nozzle is configured to provide a second fluid supply jet to provide a second flow of the fluid towards a perimeter of the room. A momentum of the first fluid supply jet and a momentum of the second fluid supply jet are adjusted so that the substantial center of the critical area is flushed by the first flow and penetration of the second flow into the substantial center of the critical area is generally prevented. In other embodiments, a HVAC system and method are discussed along with the features of the device.

Abstract: An adapter structure of a ventilating fan includes an oval metal adapter and an oval metal shutter provided in the metal adapter having a shape corresponding to the oval metal adapter. A symmetry axis of a longitudinal cross-section of the oval metal shutter in the horizontal direction is a major axis, and a symmetry axis in the vertical direction is a minor axis. The shutter rotates through a rotating shaft in the metal adapter, a curve point is provided between a projection point of a center line of the rotating shaft on the minor axis and a tail of the shutter a curved portion of the shutter is formed by curving the shutter from the curve point to an inner surface side of the shutter along the minor axis. Vibration of the shutter is suppressed in a position where the shutter is opened and turbulent flow is prevented.

Abstract: An illustrative damper system includes a damper blade that is configured to be positioned within a duct, such as a bypass duct of an HVAC system. A shaft is in communication with the damper blade, and an actuator or force adjustment mechanism is in communication with the shaft. The actuator or force adjustment mechanism may include a housing and a spring therein, where the spring is in communication with the shaft. The shaft, the damper blade, and the spring may be configured such that the shaft may affect movement of the damper blade about a rotation axis offset from a diametrical axis of the damper blade.

  • Patent number: 8539784
Abstract: An adjustable orifice for use in an aircraft air conditioning system includes a first orifice element which has an orifice frame as well as a first orifice area. When the orifice is assembled at a duct, the first orifice area of the first orifice element leaves open a part of a cross section of the duct. The orifice also includes a second orifice element with a second orifice area. When the orifice is assembled at the duct, the second orifice area of the second orifice element leaves open a part of the cross section of the duct. The second orifice element is rotatable about an axis, so that the second orifice area is rotatable relative to the first orifice area in order to set a desired flow cross section in the duct.

Abstract: A bushing is disclosed for pivotally mounting a damper in ductwork of the type generally used with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The bushing is a circular shaped member of silicone rubber material, which is particularly configured and dimensioned to provide an airtight fit with the ductwork to prevent loss of conditioned air at the pivot location, without compromising the rotational capability of the damper to alter the direction of the conditioned air. The bushing is dimensioned to be inserted into the ductwork and includes a peripheral groove which receives the ductwork in a manner which compresses the inner surface of the groove to provide the airtight seal. The bushing also includes a longitudinally tapered square central opening, which opening is dimensioned to engageably receive the damper pivot rod snugly to provide additional sealing at the interface between the bushing and the pivot rod.

Abstract: Systems and methods for a vent are described herein. In some embodiments, a vent may be configured to be positioned in an opening in a surface. The vent may include flexible members configured to inhibit extraction of the vent from the opening once positioned in the opening. The vent may include at least one vane. The vanes may rotate such that, during use, the vanes function to control the direction of fluids conveyed through the vent. In some embodiments, vane(s) may include at least one anti-uncoupling device on a vane to prevent overly exerted forces applied onto the vane by a vent operator from uncoupling the vane from its mating frame axle.

Abstract: In a refrigerator temperature controlling apparatus and method thereof adopting GA-fuzzy inference, the refrigerator includes a cool air passage formed at both sides of the rear surface of a housing for guiding downward the cool air passing through a guide passage, a cool air discharging adjustment blade rotatably installed in front of the housing for dispersing and concentrating the cool air produced from discharging apertures, a driving motor for driving the cool air discharging adjustment blade, and a controller with each temperature sensors in left right side walls, for comparing the temperature inferred by the GA-fuzzy inference with data learned by reference to control the cool air discharging direction. Therefore, the cooling speed becomes fast and the temperature distribution depending on the refrigerated foodstuffs is made uniform throughout the refrigeration compartment. Also, the incoming external temperature due to door openings can be compensated for.
