Freight Patents (Class 454/79)
  • Patent number: 9233791
Abstract: The distribution of condition air into the cargo space of a temperature controlled container is improved. Conditioned air may be selectively distributed into the cargo space from a plenum beneath the cargo support floor through a plurality of longitudinally and laterally spaced apart openings through the cargo support floor. Side air ducts may be provided extending rearwardly along the side walls of the container for distributing conditioned air received from a pair of side air outlets in a refrigerant unit associated with the container. The side air ducts may have a plurality of air discharge openings and may discharge conditioned air into vertically extending recesses in the side walls. The side air outlets have a selectively variable flow area. The number, location and size of the openings through the cargo support floor, as well as the air discharge openings in the side air ducts, may be selectively varied so as to selectively distribute the conditioned air flow throughout the cargo space.

  • Patent number: 8601967
Abstract: A pontoon boat including a plurality of pontoons and a deck secured to the pontoons. A wall assembly is anchored to and extends upwardly from the deck to provide an interior space of the deck for accommodating passengers. The pontoon boat includes a substantially enclosed storage space defined at least in part by a portion of the deck and a portion of the wall assembly. The wall assembly has a bottom edge that is spaced off of the deck to provide a first air access opening into the storage space from beneath the wall. At least one vent is provided in the wall portion at a location spaced above the bottom edge and in open communication with the storage space. The vent enhances air flow and venting of the storage space.

  • Patent number: 6439991
Abstract: A vent enabling passage of air through a flexible cover such as those used to cover a boat, automobile, truck payload, stored materials at industrial sites, retail outlet outlets and the like. More specifically, the vent is of one piece unitary construction and includes an annular base secured to the flexible cover by adhesive or other conventional securing structure with the base including a central opening aligned with an opening in the flexible cover. The vent further includes a dome shaped louvered cover hingedly connected to the base and oriented in overlying relation to the base with the louvers enabling air passage through the cover and base for circulation of air in relation to the space covered by the flexible cover on which the vent is mounted. A retaining wall extends inwardly and upwardly from the base around the central opening to prevent water from entering the opening.
