This renders permanent sources of interference and link budget problems in the data radio (particularly UHF) channel and also temporary sources of interference and collision problems in this channel identifiable and thereby avoids costly receiver location changes, without use of radio-specific specialist personnel, after a site has previously been selected for the receiver installation only empirically but inexpediently.

  • Patent number: 8086262
Abstract: To provide an information terminal device contributing to prevention of an operation not intended by a user. A communication management unit (512) of an SVG processing unit (510) displays an image (confirmation image) for requesting a user to perform a confirmation input to confirm whether to be connected to the network before performing network connection according to the definition of a link definition unit (630) in the SVG content (600). When the user rejects the network connection, the link defined by the link definition unit (630) is not referenced. On the other hand, when the user permits the network connection, the communication management unit (512) requests the data of the address defined by the link definition unit (630) from the HTTP server (10) or the like specified in the address. Upon reception of a response to this, a communication state display unit (513) displays the data reception state according to the report from a communication state report unit (121).

  • Patent number: 8078168
Abstract: For each broadcast control channel of a plurality of broadcast control channels associated with a plurality of wireless networks, a mobile device decodes control information on the broadcast control channel and stores this control information in its memory. The control information includes a network identification which uniquely identifies a particular wireless communication network. Such decoding is performed in between or during repeated acts of measuring signal strength levels of an RF signal on the broadcast control channel, and prior to completion of an averaging function for calculating an averaged signal strength level of the signal strength levels on the broadcast control channel. Decoding may be performed only for those broadcast control channels identified to have the most optimal signal strengths.

  • Patent number: 7840207
Abstract: A mobile communications device for the display of an incrementally received message includes a message viewer application for scanning the received portions of the message. On determination that the received portion of the message includes a first displayable portion of the message content, the system signals to a message server to halt the message server from forwarding further portions of the message content. The system provides a mechanism for the user of the mobile communications device to cause the mobile communications device to further signal the message server to recommence the forwarding of further portions of the secure message content to permit the verification of the e-mail based on the further portions of the secure message content.

  • Patent number: 7689216
Abstract: In one illustrative scanning and decoding method, a signal strength level of an RF signal on an RF channel is measured for a plurality of RF channels of an RF band. The act of measuring a signal strength level is repeated at least one time to obtain at least one other signal strength level of the RF signal. Subsequently, an averaging function is completed with use of the signal strength level and the at least one other signal strength level for identifying an averaged signal strength level of the RF signal. At least one optimal RF signal is then identified based on the averaged signal strength levels of the RF signals on the RF channels. In between the repeated acts of measuring signal strength levels of the RF signals, and prior to identifying the averaged signal strength levels, control information is decoded on at least one of the RF channels and stored in memory.

  • Patent number: 7596360
Abstract: A CPU confirms a receivable channel while sequentially changing channel numbers set to an analog front-end unit and specifies an area in which the receivable channel can be received and an area adjacent thereto by referring a receiving channel table by area and an adjacent area table after confirming the receivable channel. After this, the CPU confirms the receivable channel while sequentially setting the channel numbers receivable in the adjacent areas to the front-end unit to specify areas matching with the confirmation result. When the number of specified areas becomes one, the CPU assigns channel numbers to each switch formed of a channel switch group of a user interface unit.

  • Patent number: 7233807
Abstract: A device and method for displaying image data and user interface (UI) data in a mobile terminal. A camera outputs captured image data to be displayed and a synchronous signal. The mobile terminal generates UI data. In response to the synchronous signal from the camera, a selector divides a frame data time into a first time and a second time. The selector selects and outputs the image data in the first time. The selector selects and outputs the UI data in the second time.
