Patent number: 11546201Abstract: An improved way is disclosed for recovering a message by merging two corrupted copies of the message in 5G or 6G. Message faults, from noise or interference, distort the modulation of one or more message elements. In a modulation scheme of amplitude-modulated quadrature (I and Q) signals, noise can change the amplitude values, which results in demodulation faults. Often the reception is so poor that a retransmission of the message is also faulted. Nevertheless, the receiver can recover the correct message by measuring a modulation quality of each message element, and assembling a merged message from the best-quality message elements of the two copies. The modulation quality depends on the message element's amplitude versus the calibrated amplitude levels of the modulation scheme. By selecting the individual message elements from the two faulted copies, based on the modulation quality, users can obtain better reception at longer distances while expending less power.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 2022Date of Patent: January 3, 2023Assignee: ULTRALOGIC 6G, LLCInventors: David E. Patent number: 9917604Abstract: A wireless communication device may reduce a receive sensitivity in the face of a high number of interfering communications to improve uplink throughput. In a listen-before-talk scenario, a device detecting a large number of undesired received communications may not transmit uplink data in the face of crowded traffic conditions. To avoid this scenario, if a desired communication link has a sufficiently high RSSI, a device may reduce its receive sensitivity to reduce the number of detected undesired communications while maintaining sufficient quality of the desired communication link. This approach will increase uplink throughput and improve communication performance.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2016Date of Patent: March 13, 2018Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Milos Jorgovanovic, Pratik Kalpesh Patel

Patent number: 8824535Abstract: There are disclosed systems and methods that dynamically vary the word length of data being transmitted through a digital interface. In one embodiment, the method comprises: (i) obtaining at least one parameter indicative of a quality of a signal; (ii) if the at least one parameter indicates that the quality of the signal is above a threshold, then transmitting the data as a number of digital words at a first predetermined word length; (ii) if the at least one parameter indicates that the quality of the signal is below the threshold, then transmitting the data as a number of digital words at a second predetermined word length. The second predetermined word length is different from the first predetermined word length.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2012Date of Patent: September 2, 2014Assignee: BlackBerry LimitedInventors: Jianfeng Weng, Yangwen Liang, Xing Qian, Qing Feng Xu, Christopher Eugene Snyder

Patent number: 8818315Abstract: Signal quality of a composite received signal in a radio communication network is optimized by adjusting a phase offset between received and/or transmitted signals based on signal quality parameters of the received and/or transmitted signals. The phase offset is adjusted by varying the phase offset between the received or transmitted signals such that that the composite signal is circularly, elliptically, or linearly polarized. The phase offset between the received or transmitted signals is continually adjusted based on the received signal quality parameters.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2013Date of Patent: August 26, 2014Assignee: AT&T Mobility II LLCInventors: John E. Patent number: 8787329Abstract: A method and apparatus for adjusting a channel quality indicator (CQI) feedback period to increase uplink capacity in a wireless communication system are disclosed. The uplink capacity is increased by reducing the uplink interference caused by CQI transmissions. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) monitors a status of downlink transmissions to the WTRU and sets the CQI feedback period based on the status of the downlink transmissions to the WTRU. A base station monitors uplink and downlink transmission needs. The base station determines the CQI feedback period of at least one WTRU based on the uplink and downlink transmission needs and sends a command to the WTRU to change the CQI feedback period of the WTRU.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2006Date of Patent: July 22, 2014Assignee: InterDigital Technology CorporationInventors: Paul Marinier, Douglas R. Patent number: 8781465Abstract: A method of scanning neighboring base stations for measuring channel quality in a wireless communication system includes receiving, by a mobile station from a serving base station, information associated with at least one neighboring base station; transmitting, by the mobile station to the serving base station, a scanning request message to request an allocation of a scanning interval for scanning, the scanning request message including parameters associated with a requested scan duration, a requested interleaving interval, and a requested scan iteration, wherein the requested interleaving interval is interleaved between each scan; and receiving, by the mobile station from the serving base station, a scanning response message including an allowed scan duration parameter in response to the scanning request message, wherein the allowed scan duration parameter is set to zero to indicate that the request for the allocation of the scanning interval is denied.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2012Date of Patent: July 15, 2014Assignee: LG Electronics Inc.Inventors: Yong Ho Kim, Ki Hyoung Cho

Patent number: RE45273Abstract: A transceiver system includes a first section coupled to a first antenna, a second section coupled to a second antenna, and a radio frequency (RF) unit. The first section includes a transmit path and a first receive path for a first (e.g., GSM) wireless system, a transmit path and a first receive path for a second (e.g., CDMA) wireless system, and a transmit/receive (T/R) switch that couples the signal paths to the first antenna. The second section includes a second receive path for the first wireless system and a second receive path for the second wireless system. The first and second receive paths for the first wireless system are for two frequency bands. The first and second receive paths for the second wireless system are for a single frequency band and provide receive diversity. The transceiver system may include a GPS receive path coupled to a third antenna.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2011Date of Patent: December 2, 2014Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventor: Robert Lloyd Robinett

Patent number: RE48213Abstract: Techniques for synchronized address coding and print sequencing are disclosed. In one embodiment, the techniques may be realized as a method for assignment of a geographical based unique address identification code (e.g., a Synchronized ID (SID or Pointer)) to a dwelling or business. The techniques may further include integration of a SID based Master Address Database, SID based search maps and/or the association of a delivery sequence number to one or more SIDs or Pointers. The delivery sequence may contain the route and the delivery sequence within the route. The delivery sequence may thus facilitate the sortation of documents and parcels into the intended delivery sequence at the time of printing the address label or waybill. The descriptive address and delivery sequence associated to a pointer may be obtained via internet from the master address database to be displayed or printed. Thus, the system may avoid stagnant or outdated data.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2018Date of Patent: September 15, 2020Inventor: Adolfo Arguello Lacayo
