Patent number: 7756466Abstract: According to a user's recording instruction, a navigation apparatus acquires reception data (music information and identification information) from a satellite digital radio apparatus on a tune basis and records the data on a hard disk. After the recording is complete, the navigation apparatus uses a size of the reception data recorded on the hard disk to determine whether or not the recording is interrupted in the middle of a tune. When the recording is interrupted, the navigation apparatus registers the tune's identification information to an interrupted recording list. The navigation apparatus then acquires identification information about a tune being received from the satellite digital radio apparatus. When the interrupted recording list registers the identification information, that is, the recording-interrupted music is rebroadcast, the navigation apparatus acquires reception data from the satellite digital radio apparatus and re-records it on the hard disk.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2007Date of Patent: July 13, 2010Assignee: DENSO CORPORATIONInventors: Teruhiko Fujita, Takeshi Iwase

Publication number: 20100105319Abstract: A redriver chip is inserted between a transmitter chip and a receiver chip and re-drives differential signals from the transmitter chip to the receiver chip. The redriver chip has switched output termination that switches to a high value to detect far-end termination at the receiver chip, and to a low value for signaling. An output detector detects when the receiver chip has termination to ground and enables switched input termination to provide termination to ground on the lines back to the transmitter chip so that the far-end termination on the receiver chip is mirrored back to the transmitter chip, hiding the redriver chip. An input signal detector detects when the transmitter chip begins signaling and enables an equalizer, limiter, pre-driver, and output stage to re-drive the signals to the receiver chip. The input signal detector also causes the switched output termination to switch to the low value termination for signaling.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 23, 2008Publication date: April 29, 2010Applicant: PERICOM SEMICONDUCTOR CORP.Inventors: Tony Yeung, Michael Y. Publication number: 20090061767Abstract: A wireless communication method capable of selecting an optimum relay station, while preventing degradation of the throughput. According to this wireless communication method, in a frame 2, a relay station (1) has a line quality being equal to or greater than Th and hence decides that the delay amount be ?t1, while a relay station (2) has a line quality being less than Th and hence decides that the delay amount be ?t2. The relay station (1) uses ?t1 of the frame 2 to transmit a relayed signal to a base station. On the other hand, recognizing, by a lapse of ?t2, that the relay station (1) used ?t1 to transmit the relayed signal, the relay station (2) stops the transmission of the relayed signal. Accordingly, the base station receives only the relayed signal from the relay station (1) having the better line quality. Thus, when the line quality of the relay station (1) is better than that of the relay station (2), the relayed signal from the relay station (1) can be preferentially transmitted.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2006Publication date: March 5, 2009Applicant: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Ayako Horiuchi, Kenichi Miyoshi, Akihiko Nishio, Hiroaki Morino

Publication number: 20080268766Abstract: Terminating or otherwise preventing communications in a predefined quiet zone by imposing a time delay. In one embodiment an existing call is terminated during a transition between two wireless access points by imposing a time delay on communications through one of the access points. The time delayed signal is interpreted as noise and causes a base station to drop the call if the noise causes the signal strength from the other access point to fall below a threshold. Within a quiet zone, a signal time delay prevents a client device from responding to a base station connection instruction, which causes the base station to believe that the client device is out of range of a quiet zone access point. The time delay may be imposed by an optical fiber spool between the quiet zone access point and the base station, or other delay mechanism. One embodiment is aboard a vessel.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 21, 2008Publication date: October 30, 2008Applicant: SeaMobile, Inc.Inventors: Thanaroj Narkmon, Anthony J. Bradley, Kenneth J. Patent number: 7072612Abstract: A method of identifying whether a first signal received at a subscriber station has been relayed by a repeater. The method involves measuring at the subscriber station a time difference of arrival between the first signal and a second signal. A hyperboloid or other potential solution surface is then formed from the measured time difference of arrival. A determination is then made whether or not the first signal was relayed by a repeater based on information derived from the potential solution surface.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2003Date of Patent: July 4, 2006Assignee: Qualcomm IncorporatedInventor: Samir S. Patent number: 7031701Abstract: The invention is directed to a method for controlling delays in a cellular telecommunications network. The delay control method according to the invention is based on a hierarchical structure of delay controlling entities, which preferably communicate only with entities directly above or below them in the hierarchy. In the downlink direction, an entity receiving data, such as a base station or a splitting unit, sends a timing report to the entity sending the data if the data is received too early or too late, whereafter the sending entity may adjust the sending time of data. The same reporting and adjusting process may be repeated through all levels of the control hierarchy, resulting in a collective control of delays from the top of the hierarchy, for example from a RNC, to the bottom, for example to a base station.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1999Date of Patent: April 18, 2006Assignee: Nokia Networks OyInventors: Kalle Ahmavaara, Sami Kekki
