Patent number: 8472905Abstract: A method for wireless communication includes adding a received DVB-H signal with a reference oscillator signal to generate an added DVB-H signal. The reference oscillator signal may be added at an input of a matching load. The matching load may be used to tune a wireless antenna that receives the received DVB-H signal based on a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) associated with the added DVB-H signal. The reference oscillator signal may be generated, and the generated reference oscillator signal may be amplified. The added DVB-H signal may be amplified subsequent to the adding. The RSSI associated with the added DVB-H signal may be determined. The tuning may occur during receiving of a preamble of a packet for the received DVB-H signal.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2010Date of Patent: June 25, 2013Assignee: Broadcom CorporationInventor: Ahmadreza Rofougaran

Patent number: 8422698Abstract: A signal processing apparatus includes: clip detector means that detects presence/absence of a clipped part with a deformed waveform in each of N audio signals output from N microphones (where N is an integer equal to or greater than 2) based on a dynamic range of a circuit; and interpolation means that treats an audio signal in the N audio signals which has the clipped part detected by the clip detector means as an interpolation target, and other audio signals as non-interpolation targets, and interpolates the waveform of the clipped part of the interpolation target using the waveform of at least one audio signal in the non-interpolation targets.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 2010Date of Patent: April 16, 2013Assignee: Sony CorporationInventor: Okifumi Hosomi

Patent number: 7983637Abstract: An amplifier includes: an input terminal configured to have an input signal of a center frequency f0 input; a dividing unit that divides the input signal; first through ith blocks configured to have the divided input signal transmitted; a combining unit that combines signals transmitted through the blocks; and an output terminal that outputs the signals combined by the combining unit. The nth block includes a nth former-stage resonator having a fundamental resonant frequency fn, a nth amplifying unit, a nth latter-stage resonator having the fundamental resonant frequency fn, and a nth phase adjusting unit. Each latter-stage resonator having a harmonic resonant frequency either fa or fb, satisfies relationship fa<2f1, fb>2f1, (fa+fb)/2=2f0 The phase adjusting unit is configured to reverse the phase of signals passing adjacent blocks and maintain all phase differences among signals of 2fn passing through the nth block in the coordinate-phase.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2008Date of Patent: July 19, 2011Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventor: Hiroyuki Kayano

Patent number: 7877070Abstract: Certain aspects of a method and system for tuning an antenna using injection may include mixing a received DVB-H signal with a reference oscillator signal to generate an added DVB-H signal. A mixed signal may be generated from the added DVB-H signal using the reference oscillator signal. A wireless antenna that receives the received DVB-H signal may be tuned based on a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) associated with the mixed signal. The reference oscillator signal may be generated and then may be amplified. The first mixed DVB-H signal may be amplified prior to the generating of the mixed signal. The RSSI associated with the mixed signal may be determined. The tuning may occur during receiving of a preamble of a packet for the received DVB-H signal and/or during receiving of a plurality of packets for the received DVB-H signal.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2006Date of Patent: January 25, 2011Inventor: Ahmadreza Rofougaran

Patent number: 7486658Abstract: A method and system directed to negotiating and triggering media stream synchronization at the link layer in a QoS-enabled 802.11 WLAN, or other wireless, network. In one implementation, the present invention allows for improved performance of streaming network applications, such as video conferencing, over wireless links. In one implementation, the present invention also provides an optional mechanism whereby a mobile station can signal a need for on-the-fly throttling, if an application on the mobile detects that there is a need for better synchronization of two streams, such as a lower priority stream to a higher priority stream.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2005Date of Patent: February 3, 2009Assignee: Cisco Technology, Inc.Inventor: Rajneesh Kumar

Patent number: 7263339Abstract: The invention relates to a tuner for converting a radio frequency signal into an intermediate frequency signal, said tuner comprising a voltage converter supplying a control signal, a mixer associated with an oscillator which is voltage-controlled by said control signal. The invention is characterized in that said voltage converter comprises: an auto-oscillating circuit generating an alternating voltage signal of a variable level, rectifying means for supplying a direct voltage signal of a variable level based on said alternating voltage signal of a variable level, an additional circuit for reducing the variations of the attenuation coefficient of said auto-oscillating circuit, said additional circuit receiving said direct voltage signal of a variable level and supplying said control signal. The invention provides an inexpensive solution having an improved performance in terms of spectral purity, ease of implementation and stability of control of said intermediate frequency signal.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2002Date of Patent: August 28, 2007Assignee: NXP B.V.Inventor: Xavier Pruvost
