Abstract: Location determination signals are received and a location of interest is determined from the location determination signals. A communication service with a known, valid base station via a first communication channel is established and synchronized. • Patent number: 7835687
Abstract: A jamming detector and jamming detecting method are disclosed. In accordance with the present invention, distribution of a received signal is compared with a reference distribution of a specific signal model. Deviation of the signal distribution from the reference distribution can be obtained according to the comparison results. The existence of jamming is determined according to the deviation. If the signal distribution significantly deviates from the reference distribution, it means that jamming exists. An anti-jamming circuit or algorithm can be activated only when jamming is detected, thereby power consumption is reduced.

Abstract: Double-sideband suppressed carrier (DSSC) modulation is used in concert with local oscillator (LO) rejection to create a steep notch for a communication signal within a jamming signal. The double-sideband suppressed carrier modulation may use upper and lower sidebands which are symmetrical or asymmetrical. An equivalent very high Q band-pass notch is synthesized within the jamming sideband signals. The jammer signal can be split into four signals in quadrature phases and fed to a four-square vertical dipole antenna design that results in a null along the axis of the array's center on which a communication antenna is aligned.

Abstract: A filtering circuit with a jammer generator cancels a jammer in wireless signals with little degradation of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The filtering circuit may include a jammer generator which acquires information of period and phase of a sinusoidal jammer signal in a composite input sinusoidal signal, which includes the jammer signal and a desired signal, and outputs a pseudo sine-wave with a period and phase corresponding with the period and phase of the jammer signal acquired, and an adder which outputs a difference between the input and output signals of the jammer generator as the desired signal.

  • Patent number: 7826839
Abstract: A method of disrupting communications reception of a target radio receiver. A plurality of transmitters transmit a noise signal toward the target radio transceiver. Each of the plurality of transmitters has a receiver associated therewith A first transmitter ceases transmitting a noise signal at a pre-determined time. A receiver associated with the first transmitter receives information from another of the plurality of transmitters when the first transmitter has ceased transmitting the noise signal. The first transmitter resumes the transmission of the noise signal after the information has been transmitted.

Abstract: A crisis response system including a throw module and a command unit connected by a communication cable. The throw module includes at least one covert video camera hidden from view. The covert video camera provides a video signal to the command unit showing the current conditions that exist in the immediate area surrounding the throw module. The throw module further includes a covert microphone hidden within the throw module that transmits an audio signal including the sounds occurring the immediate vicinity of the throw module. The crisis response system includes a cellular phone jamming circuit contained within the throw module that is selectively activated by a switch contained on the command unit. The cellular phone jamming circuit prevents cellular communication within a prescribed radius surrounding the throw phone.

Abstract: A tactical GPS denial/denial detection system includes a plurality of GPS detection/denial devices, a gateway, and a computer management system. Each GPS detection/denial includes a GPS receiver for determining positional parameters based on the GPS satellite signals, a GPS denier, which may be selectively activated, for disrupting reliable operation of GPS receivers, and a remote sensor interface adapted to extract the GPS parameters from the GPS receiver and to effectuate the activation of the GPS denier. The remote sensor interfaces and the gateway are communication nodes in an ad hoc wireless network. The gateway receives the GPS parameters from the remote sensor interfaces and communicates instructions to the remote sensor interfaces to selectively activate the GPS deniers. The computer management system receives the extracted GPS parameters from the gateway and analyzes the GPS parameters to detect whether an active GPS denial device is present in the vicinity of the system.

  • Patent number: 7778650
Abstract: A mechanism is provided for detecting when a wireless device is entering a quiet zone. An out-of-range condition is created in an entryway to a quiet zone. When a wireless device is in a transition zone, the device transmits a re-scan message with a unit identification in an attempt to reestablish communication with the communication tower. A re-scan receiver is provided in the entryway to receive re-scan messages and notify a mobile telephone switching office that the device is entering a quiet zone. The switching office then sends a ring type modifier property to the device when the device leaves the transition zone and reestablishes communications with the communication tower.

  • Patent number: 7746265
Abstract: A system and method for suppressing radio frequency (“RF”) transmissions includes a transmitter for transmitting electronic signals that suppresses (e.g., prevents, disrupts, jams, interferes with or otherwise disables) RF transmissions. Some embodiments of the invention include a transmitter that suppresses one or more signals transmitted from a target transmitter in an RF transmission system to a target receiver in a wireless device operating in the RF transmission system to prevent, disrupt, jam, interfere with or otherwise disable an RF transmission between the target transmitter and the target receiver in the wireless device (i.e., target wireless device). These systems and methods may be used to interrupt communication, command and control of non-friendly combatant. These systems and methods may also be used to suppress RF transmissions to prevent the detonation of improvised explosive devices, or IEDs.
