  • Patent number: 10972901
Abstract: A permissioned blockchain can be a decentralized data store that maintains information indicating whether user equipment (UE) is SIM locked and/or should be disabled. A UE can access the blockchain during boot up to determine if it should be disabled and not booted into a normal operating environment, and/or whether it is SIM locked to a particular carrier. Authorized entities, such as carriers and UE manufacturers, can update the blockchain to indicate that certain UEs should be disabled, are SIM locked, are not SIM locked, and/or whether it is permissible to remove SIM locks from those UEs.

The authentication biometric identify information captured during an authentication session. The authentication biometric identify information may comprise or be derived from one or more images of the user being authenticated. The authentication biometric identify information is compared to root identify biometric information. The root identify biometric information is captured from a trusted source, such as trusted devices located at trusted locations, such as a government entity, financial institution, or business. Identity verification may occur by comparing the trusted root identify biometric information to the biometric identify information captured during an authentication session. Liveness determination may also occur to verify the user is a live person.

  • Patent number: 10916254
Abstract: In one aspect, instead of discriminative training a single K-class ANN, a proposed architecture discriminative trains K ANNs (e.g., the following K 2-class ANNs are trained: ANN_1, ANN_2, ANN_K). Each one of these K 2-class ANNs learns to discriminate between audio material from one of the enrolled speakers and “average” speech material (e.g., a feature vector generated using a Gaussian Mixture Model trained Universal Background Model (GMM-UBM)). That is, for example, ANN_i is trained to discriminate between audio material from the ith enrolled speaker and the “average” speech material. In the event that a new enrolled speaker is to be added to the system, an additional ANN is trained (e.g., ANN_(K+1)) with the available audio material (audio features) from that particular speaker and audio features produced from the GMM-UBM system.
