  • Patent number: 10477362
Abstract: Techniques are described for providing cross-network communication between a telephone network and a radio network. For example, implementations can operate to provide two-way communication between a mobile radio device and a telephone, computing device, and/or other suitable device that connects to a telephone network, by creating two-way communications between a mobile radio network and a telephone network. This inter-communication between the two networks enables landline telephones and mobile devices that are connected to a telephone network to communicate with radio devices that are connected to radio network. Implementations provide a portal service and one or more voice radio interfaces (VRIs). The portal service can employ an interactive voice response system as a user interface, enabling a user calling in from a telephone network to provide information that is used to establish communications with radio devices connected to radio network. The VRIs intermediate communications between the networks.

  • Patent number: 10469429
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for performing context-based delayed notification of messages are disclosed. Context-based delayed notification of messages can include delaying notification of incoming messages received or generated by a user device to a user of the device until a determination is made that the messages satisfy message delivery criteria. Contextual data such as location data, time data, device usage data, or the like can be used to determine whether the message delivery criteria are satisfied. Messages received by a user device from one or more senders can be categorized into one or more message categories based on message categorization criteria. Individual messages or groups of messages within a message category can be evaluated against the message delivery criteria using the contextual data to determine whether notification of the messages to a user should be delayed or allowed to proceed.

  • Patent number: 10375191
Abstract: An online social networking system publishes a new notification type to a single entry point controller. Each new notification type uses the same generic schema. The system maps the same generic schema into the same generic input model, and stores the same generic input model into a database. The system reads the same generic input model from the database, converts the same generic input model into a same generic output model, and transmits the same generic output model to a formatter. The formatter receives a request for a notification event, and transmits the notification event to an application programming interface. The formatter is a sole location that is aware of the new notification type. The formatter decorates and formats the notification event based on the same generic output model. The formatter transmits the notification event to the application programming interface, which transmits the notification event to the client device.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for determining whether or not an apparatus, such as a mobile device, is being handled or otherwise used within a vehicle. The apparatus may comprise an accelerometer configured to measure acceleration and a gyroscope configured to measure orientation. The apparatus may determine an axis of gravity of the apparatus based on acceleration measurements made by the accelerometer over a period of time. The apparatus may also determine a rotation vector of the apparatus based on orientation measurements made by the gyroscope. Using the axis of gravity of the apparatus and the rotation vector of the apparatus, the apparatus may determine a rate of rotation of the apparatus perpendicular to the axis of gravity. If the rate of rotation of the apparatus perpendicular to the axis of gravity exceeds a threshold, the apparatus may determine that it is being handled or otherwise used within the vehicle.

Abstract: Caller name (CNAM) query results obtained from a traditional CNAM service are sent during call processing on a carrier network to the subscriber's mobile handset over a Short Message Service (SMS) channel on a mobile carrier network. A call page is received at a network carrier associated with a recipient of the received call page. A caller name (CNAM) query is performed, and the result of the performed CNAM query is sent to the recipient device before sending the call page to the recipient device. The CNAM query result is displayed on a display of the recipient device.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing a contact address based on context information and an indication of a recommended contact and a preferred communication channel for reaching the recommended contact. The indication is based on pre-stored context information that matches the current context information. The communication channel may be one of a social networking service (SNS), a mobile phone number, a home phone number, a business phone number, a short message services (SMS), and a multimedia message service (MMS). The method may include: detecting, by an electronic device, current context information of the electronic device; comparing the current context information with prestored context information; and outputting an indication of a recommended contact and a preferred communication channel for reaching the recommended contact, wherein the indication is output based on the prestored context information matching the current context information.
