Abstract: A signal transforming method receives external analog audio signal through an audio I/O interface on a mobile device. The mobile device installs an application program therein, and the mobile device transforms the received analog audio signal into a digital signal according to a predetermined decoding reference via the application program. The mobile device can then execute corresponding works according to the transformed digital signal. In the other hand, the mobile device can also transform any type of digital signal into analog audio signal and transmits and receives the transformed analog audio signal via the audio I/O interface on the mobile device, therefore, the arrangement of other data transmitting interfaces of the mobile device can be saved.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for broadcasting audio tweets. A system broadcasting audio tweets receives tweets via telephone devices, wherein each listener hears a telephone call of a broadcast on the telephone devices. Each received tweet is associated with one or more tags specifying tweet content, which is used to analyze received tweets. The system presents a display of analyzed tweets for selection to a host. The host selects one or more tweets and broadcasts the selected tweets as part of the broadcast to the telephone devices. Automatic speech recognition can be used to automatically convert received audio tweets to text to enable tagging and analyzing the tweets.

  • Patent number: 8805320
Abstract: A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving first and second audio input signals from first and second communication sources. First and second emergency alert system messages are respectively identified from each of the first and second audio input signals. A temporal overlap is detected between a portion of the first emergency alert system message and the second emergency alert system message. In response to detection of the temporal overlap, a relative delay is applied between the first and second audio output signals. First and second audio output signals are generated including the first and second messages adjusted by the relative delay, such that the first and second emergency alert system messages in the first and second audio output signals are non-overlapping. Other embodiments are disclosed.

The facility relies on user transcription, text input-buffer insertion, or other indirect means of data transport to deliver the usage code from the mobile phone or other mobile device to an application developer, service provider, or another entity. The recipient extracts the usage data contained in the usage code, and may perform various data mining and analysis techniques on the usage data in order to evaluate how the application or service is used.

  • Patent number: 8712456
Abstract: A method and a system of channel detecting and reporting, a terminal, and a management center are provided. The method includes: a first access device of a terminal detects a channel status of one or more channels; and a second access device of the terminal reports a channel detection result detected by the first access device to destination equipment through an access network. The system includes a terminal and a management center. The terminal can access an access network through various access devices and report a channel detection result to the management center. The management center adjusts communication parameters of relevant equipment according to the detection result. The channel detection result can be reported in time, so that communication dead zones are prevented, and probability of long-term interference on hidden nodes in a communication system is reduced.

Abstract: Voice enabling mobile services leverage existing PTT infrastructure. Initiation of a service request and navigation through PTT service functions is accomplished by voice direction, rather than by reading choices and texting or clicking through options. A mobile phone includes a dedicated push-to-talk service button for generating a signal for initiating a voice enabled service session, a speaker and microphone for transducing sounds and electrical signals, a display for displaying visual information to a user, memory for storing data, a transceiver for receiving and transmitting data and a processor. The processor receives a signal generated by the PTT service button for initiating a voice enabled service session, communicates a prompt to a user to begin speaking, stores voice data from a user and transmits the stored voice data to a service server for transforming the voice data to a result satisfying the spoken voice service request.

  • Patent number: 8688092
Abstract: Systems and methods that can be utilized to convert a voice communication received over a telecommunication network to text are described. In an illustrative embodiment, a call processing system coupled to a telecommunications network receives a call from a caller intended for a first party, wherein the call is associated with call signaling information. At least a portion of the call signaling information is stored in a computer readable medium. A greeting is played the caller, and a voice communication from the caller is recorded. At least a portion of the voice communication is converted to text, which is analyzed to identify portions that are inferred to be relatively more important to communicate to the first party. A text communication is generated including at least some of the identified portions and including fewer words than the recorded voice communication. At least a portion of the text communication is made available to the first party over a data network.

  • Patent number: 8682286
Abstract: A switched emergency call (e.g., a 911 call, an alarm company call) forwarded by a telematics call center is converted into a session initiation protocol (SIP) packetized phone call at the call center, and routed over an IP network, for presentation to an emergency services gateway, which connects to a selective router via dedicated circuits, gaining full access to the Enhanced 911 network. This provides a PSAP receiving a call from a telematics call center or other call center with all features available in an Enhanced 911 network, e.g., callback number of the 911 caller, and location of the 911 caller. Location of the caller is provided using a VoIP positioning center (VPC), queried from the call center. In this way, the switched emergency call is converted into a SIP packetized phone call and routed without further passage through the public switched telephone network (PSTN).

  • Patent number: 8682304
Abstract: Voicemail is received at a voicemail server and converted to an audio file format; it is then sent or streamed over a wide area network to a voice to text transcription system comprising a network of computers. One of the networked computers plays back the voice message to an operator and the operator intelligently transcribes the actual message from the original voice message by entering the corresponding text message (actually a succinct version of the original voice message, not a verbose word-for-word conversion) into the computer to generate a transcribed text message. The transcribed text message is then sent to the wireless information device from the computer. Because human operators are used instead of machine transcription, voicemails are converted accurately, intelligently, appropriately and succinctly into text messages (SMS/MMS).
