  • Patent number: 9681318
Abstract: Mobile devices executing applications utilize data services worldwide. Many failures or adverse user experiences of these applications have been determined to be the result of network issues. Testing of the applications for networking issues is facilitated by utilizing a test network having proxy devices placed at different physical locations. A tester may use the test network to direct traffic to and from an application under test to one of the proxy devices. Using the proxy device, the traffic is then exchanged with a real-world network, such as a cellular data network, at the different location. The tester may thus test operation of the application under test in real-world conditions at a variety of different physical locations. The results may be used to mitigate or eliminate the failures or adverse user experiences. Additional testing may also be performed on the application after deployment to end users.

  • Patent number: 9445364
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to transmitting assistance information from a first node to a second node. In one embodiment, a first node includes a wireless transmitter and a wireless receiver. In response to transmitting a preference indicator for a first configuration to a second node via the wireless transmitter or receiving a reconfiguration request associated with the preference indicator for the first configuration, the first node starts a timer set to a value that defines an amount of time before the first node is permitted to transmit a preference indicator for a second configuration to the second node. The first node then blocks transmission of the preference indicator for the second configuration to the second node until the timer has expired. In this manner, excessive signaling of preference indicators from the first node to the second node is avoided.

Abstract: Techniques for communication management between Radio Access Technologies (RATs) sharing operating spectrum in an unlicensed band of radio frequencies are disclosed. Interference may be mitigated by, for example, receiving signaling via a resource. A first RAT may be used to receive the signaling. Based on the received signaling, utilization of the resource associated with the first RAT may be identified. The identified utilization of the resource may be classified based on an attribute associated with the received signaling and a plurality of thresholds associated with the attribute.
